Thibs stubbornness was exposed

From what's being reported is that the FO kept asking for Mitch to start and Thibs said no. It was Josh that finally requested to come off the bench. This made Leon upset, because it took for Josh to step up for something to change and not the coach.

Remember Josh saying in the beginning of the season he didn't fit in the starting lineup and maybe he should come off the bench. He didn't know what his role was. And what was the reasoning KFTV said players wanted a new voice ... because they weren't clear of their roles. Also Josh was the first player to bring up how changes were going to happen.

Maybe, but it seems like the front office was accessing all along like I hoped. But I don't think it was a coincidence for anti thib moves to start happening at such a crucial time. I don't think he was calling the shots

Thise using AI to character assisinate and create lies is really not funny and suggests the ill of technology. It's really a sad commentary to me and hopefully it can be stopped. If I am going to "hear" from someone I hope it is their truth. it's not clever or cute at all. Eventually I guess everything will be fake. What's so bad about real or truth??

Say what you want about Tom, and I'm was one leaning that he should get fired, you can't really say he lost the locker room. I think the players, Brunson in particular, liked him a lot.

The thing I fear now is that this was a James Dolan decision. And we all know, when he's the one calling shots, **** goes sour.

This could be our Doug Collins to PJax moment. Or it can be another JVG to Don Chaney

This could be the pivotal moment of this franchise, many wish for Mark Jackson to Steve Kerr moment but I really can't tell yet. :o

Dolan said he asked Tom to play the bench more and dude told him no

They were talking about it when they featured Dolan on the "Roommates" show.

Also, there was a report that Dolan made a special trip into the locker room to endorse Huk..which obviously showed that Dolan expects him to play.

It's 8am here now and when I woke up I saw my friend forwarding this news with the thumbnail "breaking news by Shams", I was like oh my god I was still quite in shock.

Knicks pursuit of championship is always tough, to let go a father figure of the Knicks players in Thibs would be quite difficult to swallow for the cap and the other players. However I think it's a right move at the right moment, it's highly probable that ECF is the furthest this current team can achieve. With draft capitals nearly used up and so close to 2nd apron, the obvious way to improve the team is to try a different approach of coaching style.

Ironically, had the Knicks lost to the Celts, Thibs would still likely be coach.
That being said, I know of no other coach that would blow the lead in game 1 or let Nembhard guard OG without devising a plan to abuse him (same for KAT an Pascal).
He should have had Mitch shooting 2 hours of FTs/day.
He definitely raise the floor but the Knick weren't going to win it all with him (even some of the playoff games they won, they were having trouble inbounding the ball AFTER a timeout - that's coaching).
I wish him luck but it was time to move on.

Would really like to see Thibodeau remain with the organization in an at least somewhat consequential role. But maybe that’s not how these things can work.
I dunno.

Listened to bunch of talking heads. Ian Begley was the most informative. The FO didn’t see a conference finals as success. They want a championship. This roster and Thibs maxed out what they can do together. I like the aggressiveness here. Granted it is not a guarantee a different coach can get us to even where we were this year but Thibs wouldn’t guarantee that either. What would have improved with another Thibs season? What would he have done differently next year that he didn’t try this year? The answer is probably nothing. We would continue going through the motions and next year we might not be as lucky with injuries.

player feedback plays a part; i'd wager its a committee of feedback and decisions from players and top brass/front office.

the important thing is they solve the shortcomings with the new hire. Empower development. Thibs fostered stability but neglected development; pretty much the hallmarks of knick-ism. Time to move on from that ideology

The roommates podcast where they got Dolan? Dolan said thibs doesnt even want to talk to him about the roster. Looks forboding in my eyes
And that episode happened several months ago
