Definitely. I think it’s an easy choice if we’re saying it’s today’s brand of basketball.

Gets more difficult if we’re saying 90’s basketball but I’m still taking Draymond.

Though, I fully expect Rodman to run away with the poll given the hate for Draymond.

No, rodmans height advantage made him a better defensive player.

As good as Draymond is/was defensively, I still think Rodman was a level above, especially in his youth. And as good as Draymond is/was as a passer, Chris Webber is the best passing power forward ever.

Draymond is a Hall of Famer, but Dennis was a more impactful player overall.

I love Draymond but I have a soft spot for rebounding like a madman. Reggie Evans, Larry Bird, Kevin Love, Matrix, Charles Barkley, Sabonis, etc. Having absolutely no regard for constantly getting whacked in the head/face/neck/shoulder is a special, and rare NBA trait. It’s why I never really was a fan of LeBron: never fierce, and fearless enough on the glass for my taste.

While I'm sure Draymond hate is somewhat of a factor, let's not pretend that's the only reason someone would pick Rodman.

Rodman was a far better rebounder and a slightly better defender (though that's really close). Draymond was better on offense though. He has been a pretty solid facilitator and he has a shot that has to at least be respected. Rodman couldn't shoot worth a damn. Basically you didn't want Rodman to have the ball in his hands unless he was rebounding or dunking.

Then you have Rodman's off court issues and Draymond's on court issues.

I think I'd actually take Draymond in the end, as much as I've always liked Rodman.

Rodman had 2 super powers: man-to-man defense and rebounding. He's a strange player because he is myopically focused on just these two things and tends to ignore the rest of the sport. He wasn't a good off-ball defender. He likely could have been an elite one with his insane physical tools, but he was just so locked into man-to-man defense he didn't care that much about making plays off the ball. On offense, he lived to attack the o-boards and do little else.

Draymond may not have a single superpower on the level of Rodman's man-to-man defense or rebounding, but Draymond is simply... better at everything else. He's a off-ball defense god. Insane defensive awareness and iq, packed into a really strong body with good mobility, elite length, and bear claw hands. On offense, he brings the same toughness and IQ. He has basically no scoring tools. A janky, hunched 3-point shot that he sometimes hits. Very little touch inside the arc. He only scores when he's left open or does something sneaky. Man be sneaky, tho! His strength and hands give him a functional handle, and he's performed excellently as a playmaker collaborating with movement shooters. People diss Draymond's offense because of the weak scoring, but few NBA players could do Draymond's offensive role. His passing is legitimately very good.

Rodman is so much cooler, imo. Wild, eccentric party animal, though sort of anti-social within the NBA. Married Madonna, wore a dress to the wedding. The shenanigans were elite. Draymond's personality is more of an overbearing, bully troll. Draymond is cornier with his obvious attempts to grow his brand.

I have Draymond 42nd and Rodman 67th.

Asinine statement. He actually cost the team the most important chip in basketball history. I give Draymond the edge in team defense but when you factor in rebounds, this is even close in my opinion. And I’m a Warriors fan.

Sheesh, I thought I was high on Green.

I do think it's a clear separation, though, and you do a pretty good job of breaking down why.

Another thing most people forget about Green is that he could be a top 1% rim protector when allowed to foul as he so often was. I'm shocked how underrated he is in this poll, to be honest. An all-time genius elite defender and often a very useful offensive player as well.

Draymond is not the greatest passing Power forward in NBA history. Both Gasol and KG are better and many others

I dislike Draymond and his antics a lot more than I ever did Dennis but at the end of the day Dray was the 2nd best player on probably 2 title teams and a 73 win team. Rodman never really came close to doing that. So Draymond ranks higher to me.

if you pick Rodman then he is probably a top 50 player of all time, you would also questioning MJ's dominance since no team has 3 top 50 players of all time in the prime together. Would the bulls be equally dominant if you replace MJ with another super star like Kobe?
