This might be his best option period unless Brooklyn overpays through a Dubs sign and trade. I can't see Utah or Detroit offering him anything long-term.

But doesn’t “betting on himself” lead to a retread of him this year, trying to Kobe-ball his way to a bigger contract? Not necessarily what this team needs again (or what Kerr wants).

One would hope that he’s smart enough to realize that playing like that is what has him stuck in the position of having to bet on himself. I doubt it, but hope springs eternal in the offseason.

Kuminga or Kerr has to go. And it won't be Kerr. Curry ball and Kuminga just don't mix. The next time Kuminga looks off Curry and takes it to the rack...even with a dunk....will be him sitting on the bench for a month.

Move Kuminga for Kobe and Vuc and that solves sooooooooo many issues. Legit stretch 5 with bulk, a desperately needed play maker and third scorer in Kobe.

Trading Kuminga now, you can only take back 1/2 of what he's signing for in a S&T.

If Warriors can sign Naz for the full MLE then waiving JK would be the best option. That would give us room under the first apron to fill out the roster, and flexibility during the season to make trades.

So apparently the plan is to keep JK. Nice. Same roster. No moves. Team going nowhere. Joe freaking Lacob.

Right??? What a joke! What has that guy ever done for this organization?

Relax, the offseason has barely begun and posters here like to take posturing as fact.

Also, based on a tiny sample size, it seems as many people want to blow it up vs go all in vs work around the edges. So, you know, to each their own.

Monte poole saying it’s likely jk is coming back.

Maybe we can pick up horford.

Curry/
Podz/buddy
Jimmy/moody
Jk/dray/gui
Horford/post/tjd

Think back up pg may be the hardest to fill. Seems like there could be options to bring in a 20 mpg center.
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)
2015 Stephen Curry 10.8 (75.1% TS)
1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)
2011 Dirk Nowitzki 10.3 (68.0% TS)

There is zero chance he is coming back..zero ...unless you trade Curry and fire Kerr in the next month.
Kerr made it clear JK does not fit and he will not get playtime. This is all smoke and trying to get more value for him.

I think you and I were of the same mind even after Kerr's press tour bashing the fit and telling the world JK didn't want to play like Marion. There just isn't a better option out there for jk OR gsw.

Not sure about Horford. There's something special in Boston and I don't know if it'll be replicable here. He'll probably cost close to the NTMLE but I would love him at the vet min. Horford/Lopez/Boucher/Nance would be about the level. They're all verrrry different risk profile and ceiling/floor combinations but all would be good mentors for Post.

I really do think there's a good player to be had with Podz/Moody/TJD + 1 FRP (Borderline all-star?). Could we get Avdija for that? I think the dollars would work almost exactly and depending on how high Por is on Podz, maybe we don't even need an FRP. Por is a bad example since after GP2 I doubt we do any more trades with that team but the overall point stands.

Backup PG typically has great options at the minimum as folks tend to fall through the cracks. We haven't been great at finding those options but there's always a tyus jones out there late in the summer that has his pick of vet min deals. Let's see who it is this year and hope we can get him. With podz, it'll be tough to convince anyone there are minutes to be had but if we do move BP, we could get someone very good at that price.

Monte Poole said it looks more possible to resign JK and revisit trading him in December.

If that is the case, then say goodbye to a center upgrade.

Dunleavy needs to trade him to Hornets for Williams and Okogie. Those 2 are players Kerr will play.... a lot.

i have an idea - sign Curry for another 20 years to sell more tickets, and tank until 2050. JK is the first tank commander.

I think they resign him and see if his external or internal value goes up.

Moses is a more likely trade choice. Unfortunately.

What are they going to get for Moody and his 13M salary?

1)Financial relief after overpaying JK.
2)Not sure what might be available, but I bet some EC teams would like a cheap guy who might help slow down guys like Brunson.

i suggest most of you watch the NBA finals... Pacers have 6 players that have a better offensive package (more efficient and making offense flow in deep playoffs games) than JK: Haliburton, Nesmith, Toppin, Siakam, Turner and Nembhard... and OKC has 5: SGA, JWill, Hartenstein, Holmgren and Caruso...The league has crazy amount of talent .....overrating our own player and overpaying him is not going to help us...its time to open the eyes and think about the bigger picture
