He's good and I want to sign him too, but the problem is we only have about 4-5M before hitting the tax.
With the current roster, the FO won't go into the tax.
If we end up trading for a star like Giannis, or we free up some cap room, then that may change.

Trade for KD and Giannis. Use the full MLE before they are a repeater and only have half of it.

Weird seeing a likely fake rumour that KD and Giannis have talked about teaming up in Toronto.

He would be a great add to solidify the C backup spot and still fill in as starter when Jak misses games.

Knicks trade Kat for KD
Diangelo Russell signs with the suns and the Kentucky boyz join up

Giannis decides to stay and give the bucks another chance
Bucks trade Dame for Beal to give another chance to the existing core

Trade Scottie plus draft capital for Giannis. Start Agbaji as the 3&D wing, move RJ to the sixth-man role, and let him and Dick try to replicate their earlier run where both dropped 25 a game, except this time, it should be even easier since they'll be up against backup units.

If you’re gonna bench RJ might as well trade him either as part of a Giannis trade or a separate one.
No need to bring a 25M a year player off the bench.
I wonder what a RJ plus 9th pick could get us if Giannis trade is a no-go.

I'm guessing if it's not Khaman then the 39th pick will be used for a big because the market right now for backup centers that fit this team's timeline is...not good. I guess you could swing for Mark Williams but his injury history is a bit concerning. Derick Lively has been mentioned a few times but beyond his availability being up in the air, i'm not sold on him after the disaster that was his post-Luka time in Dallas. Nic Claxton is overqualified and overpaid to be a backup so unless you're trading Poeltl then that makes zero sense.

The Raptors could give a good package for Giannis.

I can't see a lot of teams beating that offer.

The Rockets could trade for KD and still have a better package than this (Probably around Sengun, depends on what they do with FVV but worth noting the Suns were interested in him a few years ago) - and having KD on the West's 2 seed is probably a better salespitch to Giannis than a lottery team where the 3rd best player would be...IQ who half of this fanbase isn't even sure can be the team's PG of the future?

Same applies to the Spurs. Honestly, even in the East if Giannis wants to stay there I think the Pistons can field a more competitive roster while centering a deal around Ausur and Ivey plus all their picks. See also: 76ers giving up PG13 and #3 plus some future 1sts from the 76ers/Thunder/Clippers that Philly owns, the boatload of picks the Nets could offer, the Magic having two of Black, Franz or Suggs and 2 picks in this draft plus their futures, even the Hawks with Risacher and the spare picks from this draft/the future since one of the firsts they can offer is the Bucks own 2027 1st if I recall the specifics. If the Pelicans are blowing it up then you more or less have a 2-year window of control with Atlanta's package and can reroute Okongwu + others to further add to the stockpile.

Scottie+RJ to Bucks for Giannis and Portis (probably have to add the 9th pick)

Ingram+Poeltl to Suns for KD+Richards+Micic

Ryan Dunn from Suns to Bucks to make salaries work

In an ideal world, I would want that we get Giannis without giving up the 9th. Just Scottie, Ochai, and Gradey, + 2 1st round picks

And then with the 9th Masai drafts Kon (if he falls). Good shooter and the most ready to contribute. Perfectly fills in the hole in our bench post Giannis trade. + we also have the second rounder

Trade Ochai for a 1st pick taking back no salary. Teams can used their MLE as a trade exception now.

Or like Ochai for #16 and Jett Howard.

Cam Johnson will be a great piece next to Barnes and Ingram. We can still get a rotation piece at 19; possible guys like Flemming will be there, along with maybe even Coward, Gonzalez, Clayton, Wolf, Raynaud etc.

Can't believe Scottie became most hated b4 his rookie deal is up. Same ole same ole. Y'all always wanna build thru the draft but always chase off any and all homegrown talent. Toronto is suck a fickle stuck up sports market, especially on the puck side. The teams & players r expected to be the best right away and the process is secondary, at the same time never fully believing in the team because of past seasons, it's quite gross.
