Thank you that would make sense .

The ESPN trade machine still includes the 10M therefore I was a bit confused.

Fanspo is using the extension amount like you said :)

You’re still right though, it’d be extremely difficult to make any deal work and nearly impossible to make at Scottie centred deal with before July 1st.

For ‘poison pills’, any outgoing salary gies on the books as the current salary, while for the incoming team it’s priced as the extension.

Any trade before the start of next season Scottie would count as a $10 mil outgoing salary for Toronto, but a $38 mil incoming salary for Milwaukee

It's all good the extension counts against Milwaukee's cap even if Scottie is dealt before July 1st

Yah, but it makes salaries pretty much impossible to match when Scottie only counts for $10 million outgoing on the Raptors cap sheet.

Let’s say you add RJ, him + Scottie would count as ~$63 million in incoming salary for Milwaukee but only ~$35 mil in outgoing salary for Toronto.

Neither team has any cap space, so no matter what combination of players you add, one side is gonna have too much incoming salary if Scottie’s involved.

I hear you on all this. Someone like douggood could answer alot of questions like this. I think scotty's extension counts as a standing contract. So if he's traded....that same legal contract extension applies to trade salary requirements under the CBA.

I kinda take for granted that if this was a major stumbling block....the media guys would report on it.

Y'know....for as much crap that ppl here talk about a guy like Doug Smith....if you go to the YouTube ppl ....they literally identify anything he publishes as a "major update" lol.

So it's almost like there is a primary and secondary media dynamic. The secondary media ppl report on what the primary media publishes.

Pensare and the youtube ppl can disrespect Doug Smith all they want. Pensare would literally kill a kitten to have the career that Doug Smith has. But he never will because he is a raging, dysfunctional narcissist who lies about getting robbed by black ppl.

Imagine being in your late 30s/early 40s and failing to become a basketball media person (failing to become anything else too) while publically smearing and insulting others who succeeded and accomplished more in that same field. Doug Smith been a respected journalist his entire adult life. Pensare is a middle aged man with bags under his eyes who hasn't held down a proper job since he folded clothes at Abercrombie and finch.

Imagine trying to bully an elder, near senior citizen, on the internet because you hate that they succeeded where you failed miserably?

In an ideal world, I would want that we get Giannis without giving up the 9th. Just Scottie, Ochai, and Gradey, + 2 1st round picks

And then with the 9th Masai drafts Kon (if he falls). Good shooter and the most ready to contribute. Perfectly fills in the hole in our bench post Giannis trade. + we also have the second rounder

That’s a solid playoff squad:
IQ/Shead
RJ/Walter
Ingram/Kon
Giannis/Mogbo
Poeltl/Boucher

Still enough assets to fix the stretch big situation

That's never going to happen.

I'd also argue we're better off with Ochai than gambling on finding someone with similar impact in the drsft.

Ochai is most likely part of the package along with dick and Scottie though.. that’s why

We need shooting if that’s the Giannis deal, and who better than to draft Kon with the 9th, assuming he falls

3 non-shooters as starters, congrats.
Ujiri would be dumb to believe we can cheat our way back to title contention without building and growing properly over years and stack up talent like 2014-2018. What happened to him ? He used to be a patient, smart and progressive gm, but those days are long gone.

I think it'd be Scottie + RJ (A young all star + a young 20 pts scorer). That should limit the picks to like 3 max. That deal also give us some tax room to add veterans for the bench.

The ideal trade, the one I think gets it done, is the Zion one proposed here where the bucks get Zion and their picks so they can tank in piece.

Like when everyone blasted him for evaluating and evaluating? It was a running joke in here that he wouldn't make a big splash.

He hasn't even done anything yet and you're acting like he has.

Things we know about Giannis:
- Gym rat
- Devoted family man
- Most charitable athlete ever in that city
- By all accounts, first one at practice, last one to leave
- From everything we have seen and heard, a gentleman through and through

Things we know about Zion:
- He doesn't share any of those above traits with Giannis.

How TF are the Bucks going to sell that to their fans?

They would sell their picks back (let's tank while Zion "recovers"!) plus all our picks. That's the pitch. Otherwise your pitch is what? Let's make the playoff with Scottie and RJ? What you want after you lose your star is restart and bottom out.

Most people don't want to admit it but people will do anything not to watch the garbage dump season coming up ahead of us without any major moves.

Major move?

We added Brandon Ingram.

We have the 9th pick in this draft.

We don't know what we really have until we have seen this roster play.

I get it...trades are fun and exciting. But to say this roster hasn't changed in a big way already...c'mon man.

If/when Giannis is traded, I am curious to see if there is reporting about whether Scottie Barnes was ever on the table in a trade.

Because if it's reported that the Raptors have refused to include Scottie Barnes in trade talks for Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, and Giannis Antetokounmpo....haha
