I think Thibodeau is better fit alongside Lively and Flagg. The physical style of basketball bring Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Jimmy Butler to next level.

No to Thibbs, we dont need to run Flagg to the ground

If Dallas is lucky enough to part ways with Kidd, they should give Sweeney a shot, or look into guys like Van Gundy, Cassel, Hurley, or heck, even Duke's current coach

I think replacing Kidd is easy. What's more important is who are the candidates out there willing to move his family and live in Dallas. A lot of fans will find ways to complain given that it's a Nico hire. Sweeney, Van Gundy, etc the candidates are a lot. Then you have to consider that they'd be a Nico Harrison employee. And you know what comes with all of that and the media cicrus it brings. I'm on the fence with trading Flagg for Giannis, but if it's a coaching change, and a high chance of Nico effing it up, then go for the finished product. I mean you're out in 2 years anyway. You have to win and win now. Fans won't like it either way but you get to go out in stye. Just my two cents.

A new coach now would mean he's on the clock. Then if he doesn't work out, Flagg would probably be on his 2nd or 3rd head coach then. If you rock the boat too much, I think he can find a more stable situation elsewhere when he gets to free agency in 6 or 7 years. Just some things to consider.

I like Taylor Jenkins if Kidd goes and we intend to try and compete. I think his offensive system of a lot of motion, cutting and less on iso can really help put less burden in the beginning of the season without Kyrie. I also think he did a good job of developing players and being tough. Not really his fault that Ja was always hurt and being an idiot.

Yes Jenkins would be great. Memphis has developed young talent nicely, so would trust him with Flagg and Lively

Prior to the firing, there was a rumor that Ja Morant did not like the new system implemented by Jenkins. Which is taking the ball away from him and adding plays to have JJJ create more shots. If he does that here, he gives more duties to AD and you'd have fans wanting to trade AD for Kelly Olynyk and a pick because we need to parade a team with 12 players under 22 because you know, Cooper Flagg era is now.

But if Jenkins manages to get past all that and knows how to work around AD, Flagg and Kyrie (when he comes back), then all and good. I'd assume Dudley and staff will have to go as the new coach gets his picks for his staff? 5 assistant coaches got fired under Jenkins' time with Memphis, so unofficially, I think these are his guys he wants to bring in instead of Shamgod trying to shoot halfcourt shots with the boys during warm ups. I'm in.

A dream target for me is Eric Spoelstra if he decides to leave the **** show in Miami for a new **** show in Dallas. Herro and Bam both maxed out just ain't it. But Spoelstra should be able to coach really well if he has the ingredients. Riley just built a bad team around him by maxing out guys who don't need max contracts.

Leon Rose and Rick Brunson has Dallas' number. I expect them to be able to talk to Kidd via back channels and have some collusion involved for his eventual move. It would be good for Dallas to have a backup plan here.

Brunson is definitely pushing for this. I honestly thought the Knicks would pursue Jared Dudley but Kidd makes sense for Brunson too. So are we saying 5 unprotected 1st round draft picks and they can have Kidd?

The most funny thing is if Dumont decides to cut costs and hires James Borrego to develop Flagg

Might as well send Flagg to Milwaukee for Giannis to be honest. No development needed. Giannis is a finished product.

Kidd isn’t going anywhere. Nico wants him here, and the players love him, specifically Kyrie loves Kidd.

arkuo wrote:If Kidd leaves for NY, I have zero trust that Nico will hire based on merit. it will just be about "his guys" again. So unless there is a Eric Spoelstra or Ty Lue to be hired, I don't see an upgrade. If you leave it for Nico, he'll probably hire an unqualified yes man again. Someone he can control but with lesser credentials.

For Kidd, I can see him leaving. Nico is on his way out eventually. And he is a Cuban hire. He's not a Dumont hire. The NY contract is likely a 3 year deal. I think he takes it. Even if you're fired, you get the whole amount in the contract.

Neither Nico or Kidd are going anywhere. In fact Kidd likely gets a raise to stay.

That’s also my take on Thibs. Is he a good coach? Sure he is. He has also worn out his welcome within 3-4 years of being there, at every single place he coached except for when he coached with the Knicks in the late 90’s. You think you hate Jason Kidd. Be careful what you ask for.

The Knicks traded all their available first round picks for Mikal Bridges. Now, if they give the Mavericks Mikal Bridges for Kidd, Powell, Caleb Martin, and Naji Marshall, then we got a deal.

Nah we should keep Naji, they can have Klay :)

Can we add the tunnel rat as well? LA will now get "the bubble" version of Luka because of his gift.

What about Zion, Herb Jones, Missi and a conditional 1st if Zion gets to jail or miss most of the season for AD, Martin, Hardy.

At least, you get some sure things than a couple of maybes. Zion is expensive and limited; could get some buckets against random second unit. It also creates space for Klay to shoot. With Flagg in mix, I can see CP3 to come and chase a ring. Even if AD is headed to Perlicans, you still keep the Duke frontcourt storyline. If Zion is not heading to jail nor is heading to the injury list, then it should be fine even without getting a pick. Herb Jones is a tough find among the league. You switch Martin to Herb, that's a significant upgrade. You also get the perfect excuse to send Klay to the bench. In Kyrie's absence, just start Zion or CP3 and think about the defensive assignment. Unless you see a team with 5 out strategy, Zion should be playable. When Kyrie comes back, I'm fine sending Zion to Charlotte for LaMelo Ball.

Perlicans may love to welcome AD back since Zion has made too many problems to the franchise. AD is still the best player in Perlicans' team history.

C - Lively / Gafford / Kai Jones (MIN)
PF - Flagg / Zion / Missi / OMax
SF - Washington / Marshall
SG - Herb Jones / Klay / Christie
PG - Kyrie / CP3 (MIN) / William
