One issue here is you calling a guy like Rui trash. If we are going to call 30+ mpg starters who have good size and good scoring efficiency while not being just a turnstyle on defense of course you are going to feel like you are getting lowballed. But if we analyze the return a little more accuracy we don't have to get as offended, right?

But if you want to build a deal around Murray for Gafford/Washington, lets dial in the salary filler and get it done.

Ive watched enough of the Lakers to know who Rui is as a player. He plays as a starter because everyone else is even worse. He gives effort and finishes easy buckets, but thats it. A complete nothing burger of a player.

Yeah sadly this is a major issue on this board, not just with you. We have superstars and scrubs. Nobody is saying Rui is a star, or even a big difference maker, but he is a very competent rotation player who would play meaningful minutes were he on the Nuggets current roster.

He would not be a nothing burger at all. And he's but one example of players offered up you dismissed out of hand. But its cool. Just means its harder for posters to help you in your thread. Your loss really.

Rui is a player with very limited skills that should not get starter minutes on any competitive roster. He is not a defender, shooter or creator. He is just a body with some size willing to take any task you give him. He will not be good at the task but he will try to do it. That Rui in a pinch.

I dont need "help" with my thread. I was trying to asses the perception of Murrays value by other people because on one hand i consider him a bad player overall while on the other many posters consider him a hidden superstar. Or at least its what they write when it suits their narrative.

This thread is just an indicator of how little people actually value Murray and it allows me to adjust my expectations for the offseason.

In other words the Nuggets are truly stuck and apart from making a dumb move like trading Braun for trash, there will be nothing to expect from them.
