Is he supposed to be the solution to us overcoming the Pacers?![]()
Kidding but serious
Well, he wasn't the actual coach, for good or bad.
I think ultimately it's a players league, and all the coaches are really good, with a handful of true difference makers, good and bad.
I think Thibs is a borderline difference maker, in that he makes certain situations better but not all. Meaning, he's more Rivers than Pop or Spo, for instance.
I think the Knicks are looking for a coach who is good (like Thibs was) but that they need a different voice.
It might work out, it might not.
Thibs was really good and I wanted the Knicks to win a chip with him, but he's not the be all end all of NBA coaches.
It's also not a trivial thing to find someone as good (but different) or better.

He did a great job at CT and he has an incredible basketball mind. He’s super passionate about the game and he’s at a good age to lead us for a decade if necessary.
College coaches not all don’t do well in the NBA except for guys like Larry Brown and Brad Steven’s and a few others but I’d take my chances with Hurley. I think he was born for the Knicks coaching job.
Look at the way his CT teams played and dominated. Listen to his podcast interviews where he goes deep into game analysis. He’s the real deal IMO.

And Kolek has to be in the mix. Him and Deuce could be a second unit backcourt.
Not sure what they plan for Dadiet, but the one I wouldn't sleep on is McCullar. If his body is sound the guy could be a monster defensively and maybe capable offensively.
if the next coach expands the rotation to 10, kolek is probably in there like swimwear.
i watched him through his college career and i'm ASHAMED of how much video i watched leading up to the draft. i lost my **** when we picked him. also really liked the defensive improvement i saw when he got back in. we'll need facilitation in the second unit and he could absolutely bring that.
Just imagine we may have our own TJ McConnell, with better 3, more pesky D, more fancy passes and same punchable face (nah i meant rookie contract, sorry Tyler)in our own team.

Yeah.
They called the Thibs firing the other day. Not directly but they clearly had the information.
This seems to indicate whoever they're hiring is a bombshell boss move.

Welp.
Sounds like WWW.
And WWW is a Bryant backer.
For better or worse, this is the way it's going.
So far, the CAA/WWW/Leon thing has worked out. Worm might be turning here, or it's all still good or even better.
We shall see
