Basically, he wasn't able to shape the collection of incompatible players that Ishbia assembled into something remotely close to a cohesive unit. It also didn't help that his rotations and lack of bench use hurt the team. It also doesn't help that he has three of the league's biggest prima donnas on the same roster.
He lost the team somewhat early in the season and that's more Durant's doing than anyone else. They refused to listen and buy in to his scheme and just chose to play how they wanted, which naturally ended up in failure. He was a fall guy and it's a damned shame he had to put up with it from people who are supposed to be professionals.
