I never thought about it before now, but if the talk against Rick Brunson being on the bench is true, it actually makes sense in hindsight.

Again, if true, the perception of favoritism/nepotism was probably high among players. This may have added to the feeling among fans that something was "off" with the team all season.

but even then so, what are they supposed to do about it? the assistant coach is the father of the team captain...maybe the top brass should not have allowed rick to be a part of the bench from the get-go?

Giannis is way more valuable than those 3 yes. You would have serious depth and balance concerns. Giannis wants to score...Brunson is a natural scorer and a passer second. Obviously KAT needs the ball. Would KAT be a 3rd option...if he's a 3rd option is he defending enough to warrant his scoring taking a hit?

Then you would need shooting at the 2 and 3 but also a POA defender (I guess that would be McBride). Then you would need another quality defending 3 that could shoot as well. I don't think you could start Hart with Giannis for spacing problems.

With the CBA it certainly would be a challenge to fill out the rest of the starters.

He was there last year but he definitely had a bigger voice this year.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

It’s looking like Jason Kidd folkssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t like it Tbh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't Rick an assistant for Kidd? You know they can't let Rick go so this definitely makes sense from that perspective

Rick was never an assistant for Dallas. He was an assistant with the Wolves with Thibs again.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

It’s not so much that, it’s just losing more and more depth. One injury could cripple the season

OG, Mikal, Mitch in 3-way trade for Giannis, Portis
Hart sent out for multiple depth pieces
Deuce, Precious, Dadiet for DDV
Use Tax MLE on CP3 or Hortford
Sign Shamet, Wright, ring chasers to 1yr deals

It’s possible to surround that trio with enough 3&d guys to make a real run.

Giannis & KAT would be like Jimmy & KAT, Giannis wouldn't allow that level of defensive effort. You need someone to do the dirty work next to Giannis to help protect your franchise player.
