I'm not sure if this is serious?
Good assessment:

I think she's fine, obviously not the best or worst. I also don't get the backslash especially if it's a subjective feeling about her voice. As for content, it doesn't bother me. Same with the Mark Jackson + JVG duo. I thought they were funny together and didn't deserve the hate they got. It's kind of like Inside the NBA. Sure, we can have the good neutral play by play from Harlan, Breen and formerly Marv Albert. I don't mind a little unpredictability from the color commentators.

Like a few days ago she said something like "Germans and French don't like each other" alluding to Hartenstein and Gobert. On the surface, of course that's a ridiculous statement. But as a fan, I thought it was unintentionally hilarious, especially Breen's reaction. To each their own.

Edit: found it

She has a hard time hiding her preferences and she just doesn't add a lot to the commentary. And to the ones saying it's sexist to hate on her, I would argue it's just as sexist to give her preferential treatment just because she's a woman. I dislike her as a commentator just as much as I dislike Reggie Miller.

this is media and as a caster it is important how she comes across

i watch the game as entertainment. from the broad response at realgm, most people want a tight game not a blowout. well that's a search for ENTERTAINMENT.

anyway, that's my view. the game is fast. announcers have to squeeze in stuff and they have a tiny window to do it. how much room is there for cogent analysis? to my ears doris literally can't say enough about how great the most casual play is

for me it's not. all announcers are white noise. their job is to add to the visceral excitement

Mark Jackson should never be referred to as MJ

This is exactly how I feel. I have no issues with her or any commentator for that matter. But I used to love JVG before he became old and cranky and it was the first time I really wanted to mute the tv while a commentator was speaking.

I was pulling hard for Doris but she's not very good as a color commentator.

Stan was the best color guy this post-season. JVG was an all time great.

I dont think Doris is the best in sports ( I really enjoy Greg Olsen, Collinsworth, and Kevin Harlan with Reggie), but I think she is among the best in the NBA. She is very knowledgeable of the game, players, Xs and Os, in game situations, and whatever drama is going on. She also doesnt try to do too much and has a very even-keeled voice.

Doris Burke commenting on the Celtics is a top 3 worst TV experience for me.

It's so over the top it's basically unprofessional. And it's not even bias - lots of announcers are biased - it's the endless fawning. That isn't colour commentary.

The frustrating thing is she started off great but it just seems to have gotten unlistenable.

I've criticized Doris aplenty but think a lot of the criticism is of the subjective variety, not liking her voice, etc.

I think she gushes with superlatives too much, and is an unabashed Tatum fan, but she knows her basketball. She is always prepared. She was not handed any position to fill a quota.

For the record I think having chemistry with Jackson or Miller shouldn't be any sort of qualification. Rather, why not have it be on them to have chemistry with their fellow commentators? Lol So that's not a knock on her.

Not my favourite, but I respect her and would like to see her continue alongside Breen.

I wish we still had the GOAT Chris Webber talking about how one must car part mentalize and then compartmentalize

Her homerism and salivating over certain stars makes her unbearable at times, but she does know her stuff.

She's okay I guess but she must be getting paid for every time she says "the dribble-drive" because she says it about twenty times a game, lol.

I enjoy her NCAA football coverage. When it comes to basketball, she seems to be missing something. Still, she is one of the best in an era that has little talent.

Why doesn't Clyde Frazier have that gig?

She's not bad as people deem her to be. Not as shallow as a Reggie Miller, tends to over-exaggerate stuff so sometimes she sounds more a fan than a commentator but she knows her stuff. Richard Jefferson's analysis is the top one for me, i think being a role player really exposes you to the smaller nuances of the game and it shows in his takes.
If there is no basketball in heaven, i am not going.
