He's not Keon Ellis even on a high end. Ellis was a much more interesting 3&D prospect. Better athlete, much better defender and better shooter. Proctor looked like he was going to be interesting his Freshman season but he didn't really develop much beyond that. Ellis is a much more sudden athlete. I don't see Proctor being much of anything off the ball and certainly not a 3&D target.

So you don’t think he’ll be a good defender? And you don’t believe in his shot? Even though he took roughly 6 3s a game at 40%

I think he'll be a below average defender. Doesn't have especially good size or athleticism, so I'm not sure what the upside is there. His 3pt shooting has improved but his FT% somehow got worse over the three seasons which is suspect. He really only had the one good 3pt% season this past year. Low steal rate. I just see a guy who probably ends up in the GL. Could be wrong, of course. I just think there are more interesting guys to take shots at.

Having said that, all the guys I want might be gone long before our pick so if we ended up with Proctor, I'm not gonna sit here and cry about it.

Fair enough. I don’t think he’ll be an elite defender. I’m not worried about his ft% when he’s taking like 2 a game.

Yea the steal rate being so low is definitely a concern. Seems like his steals kind of just come to him rather than him causing them. But I think he’ll be avg to solid defender who can follow game plans and not be a complete sieve. Hes more of a positional defender than a disruptor. But combine that with volume 3 point shooting and there’s something there. With so many prospects returning I wouldn’t be mad at proctor.

I guess if you don’t believe in his shot or just his ability to get up 3s in volume then there’s not a lot there. To me just being able and willing to get up multiple 3s will be valuable. Like we’re praying that podz is willing to take 6 3s a game. Volume shooting + solid defender is an nba player.

he’s had some attempts coming off down screens. He’s done pump fakes and side step 3s. Are we going to run him off of screens like Steph? Obviously not especially since we also have buddy. But I don’t think melton was too much of a movement shooter but he still got up a lot of 3s. I think he can be a better shooter than podz.

I think the biggest need in a shooter for us is coming off screens yeah. That's what Buddy can kinda do, and it's really what we have missed since Klay. I hope Moody can keep developing there, as he was showing more signs of it. Without any movement shooters the offense just stagnates when Steph is off the court.

But the offense when Steph sits next year is going to revolve around Jimmy drive and kicks. So more stationary shooters that don’t cut into his driving lanes will be needed.

I mean he was telling Buddy not to cut into his driving lane in a post game interview.

Add Payton Sandfort. I know he had a down year this year but he was playing through injury. Just not sure how any of them hold up on defense.

I wouldn't mind us drafting Alijah Martin if nobody I have considerably higher falls to us (which, of course, is entirely possible). I like him as a SRP for anyone but us in particular.

I've been following Brea for years now. He is an absolutely elite shooter. The only problem is he might be the most one-dimensional prospect in history. He makes Klay look like Jokic. Hell, he makes Moody look like Shai.

I really like Alijah. Just a winner. Even though he's short has defensive versatility and just a dog. Went to the Final Four with FAU and obviously won with Florida. Not many teams want to play shorter wings though.

Agreed. The size is not ideal but if there's a coach who's fine playing smaller players when they fit his system, it's Kerr. And if there's a team that can play PG-sized players without having them play PG, it's the team with Green and Butler. Martin also has a good wingspan and strong built, so his lack of height is not as prohibitive as it is for some other players. He should be able to offer defensive energy, athleticism in the open court, and some shooting – all things we could really use.

I think he can take over for GP2 as our bull dog poa defender off the bench.

Yeah, a pick in the late 2nd is hopefully good at one thing...anything more is a bonus.

I like Tonje a bit more due to his measurables and athleticism. Still not great on D but not as bad as Brea.

He can create a little, spot up and shoot off movement.

Jamir Watkins could be worth a look...a wing with good size and a jack of all trades type of guy. Had a good combine showing.

Kinda hoping Raynaud slips to 41. Smart kid, looks to be a decent passer, shooter, and good athlete for the size.

Maybe not, but this team as constructed lacks wings.

I don’t think it’s a lock anyone draft at a 41 makes the team.

Also not a lock the JK is on the roster

Jimmy, Dray, JK, Moody, Buddy, Gui will play all of our minutes at the 3/4. We don't lack wings, we lack wings that can shoot since our best 3 aren't good shooters.

JK will most likely be a Warrior to start the year. There's really no S&T that Lacob would accept. There's no one that is going to offer JK a large contract that we won't match. If we can get a rim protecting center that can shoot, I think Dray would go to the bench to see if JK can start. Horford or Jaylin Williams for the NTMLE.
