I'd argue the opposite.
If he wins with the Oilers, he owes nothing else to them and can shift his focus to helping his hometown end their Stanley Cup drought.

If McDavid comes home and helps the Leafs win the cup, he's the undisputed GOAT.

Canes are alright. I mean they traded away Rantanen. Leafs folding badly in a game 7 doesn't really register much with me as an outsider. The Tampa thumping though. That was something. The West has been a beat down all the way through. Oilers just lost Hyman. Huge loss. Dallas seems to have lost their mojo.

Panthers win the championship again.
Yay!

I like Barkov at least. He's a pro.
