We could decline Goga and pick Yang up at that range. Dude is a good shooter plus can play off of Pick and Roll. Won the DPOY in China last season.

Could be a interesting pick up for us. Anyone?

He is just a downgrade Yi Jianlian, not Yao Ming

But his stock is rising and he could sneak into First Round

If you want a big for 25th... get Raynaud or Kallbrenner... better projections than Yang.

I am sorry I might be new to this

How is Raynaud like? It has been talked about a lot

Legit 7ft barefoot. Shoot 3s. But most important over Yang is that he is waaaaay more mobile which kinda is a need for us in our defensive scheme.

In NCAA.... think of a thinnet Brook Lopez. 7'1 big dudr that shoot 3s. Dunno if he can outmuscle NBA guys like he did against college though

Unless a team is desperate for china sales/viewers... any GM that drafts him in the 1st round needs to be fired

OKC is ALWAYS one step ahead of us.

It's so annoying. Luckily, they weren't 1 step ahead in 2022.

Didnt they pick Giddey over Franz?

Tell me do we love or hate walter clayton jr?

Pro : Looks like an NBA ready product
Con : will struggle against anyone taller.

Not a huge fan.

But that’s just me.

Doesn’t really look like a point guard. Looks like an undersized shooting guard. He’s the same age as Giddey right now and I’m not sure he can take advantage of nba level defenders like he did against college kids.

Won’t impact our results in the playoffs this year. We should trade for a guard that has 4+ years NBA experience that has proven what we need.

I hope we trade our picks but a solid C in the draft at 25 could help a lot if we can trade one of Goga/WCJ.

just a little more athletic Cole and I feel like we would be better served as grabbing one of the bigger wings at 25. FO needs to go get a guard via trade and push that

You would have to show me a lot and I mean a lot of tape to get me to disagree or agree with you and I simply don't have that kind of time.

I am neutral. I just glanced at his measurements, and it screamed that he will either do well, or won't and it all depends on how he can use his tools against taller NBA players which for his wingspan will feel like literally everyone except Cole.

"Well" has the definition of being an NBA caliber player. I have not done the homework to say whether he is Josh Giddey 2.0 or Jeryl Sasser 2.0 or Elfrid Payton 3.5.

The closer we get to the draft the more I'm leaning toward:

Coward, Clifford, Traore, or Jase at #16
and any of the above plus Demin, Raynaud, Wolf, Markovic at #25

Basically stick to higher valued wings and guards at 16 and go for replacement insurance players at 25 if those guys are all off the board.

That being said, I doubt they keep both picks and will be shocked if they do.

Traore is high risk high reward. He could actually become a legit NBA PG. but shooting…. Can he develop it. He is still pretty raw. So he needs a couple of seasons in the cooker. I’m actually fine drafting for ceiling.

He's the lesser between the others for me.

He's a guy that operates more in super high paced transition offense, but Orlando doesn't really run that style of offense. Although I would like to see them move toward that I think if they choose not to run well thought out half court PnR sets with Paolo.

Jase, Traore and Sorber (in order) are the auto picks at 16 for me. I would not want to trade that pick for an expiring guard with them on the board.

Riley, Clayton, Wolf, Bryant, Coward (in order) are the next guys I would consider at 16 if the above weren't available. I would probably even prefer to have these guys over a rental guard we would have to extend, but would understand the move given how urgent our need is.

All of those guys and Beringer, Raynaud, Penda, Thiero, Clifford and Kalkbrenner would be considered at 25 for me. Iffy on Fleming but probably would take a shot at 25 as well.

Broome, Markovic, Yang, Brea, Sallis, Lanier,, Proctor, Jones, Avadalis would all be awesome value at 46. Other guys I would be fine with as well there, just use the 2nd round pick.

that expiring guard would already have an extension agreed upon with FO before the trade is even made. There's 0 way you give up anything of value for 1 year when this team is cap screwed after this upcoming season.

What should've happened is they traded for an expiring guard 2 years ago when we had the space to see if it worked out and then re-signed that guard if so.

will he? how many players get drafted out of the SEC and he played pretty well. As a guard off the bench, I think he can have a role. If TJ Mcconnell at 5'10 can last 10 years and be productive, Clayton could be a bench guy at the least.

I understand they will likely extend them, but I am expecting that to not be a great value contract. They have less trade value as an expiring for that reason regardless of our extension ambitions.
