2026 NBA All-Star Game To Be USA Vs. World Format

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 5, 2025 2:56 am

Adam Silver confirmed that the 2026 NBA All-Star Game will be the USA versus the World. The game will be in the daytime and air on NBC after an extended run on TNT. The game will also be played during the ongoing Winter Olympics in February.

"What better time to feature some form of USA against the world?" Silver said.

While Silver said he is not yet sure what the format will be for the game, the NBA has paid attention to the NHL's Four Nations tournament.

The NBA hasn't had an American-born MVP since James Harden in 2018 with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander winning the award in the subsequent years.

Despite a number of fans, myself included, who have wanted to see something like this since the days of Nowitzki & Pau Gasol...it just seems like it's to late.

While the game play may be slightly more interesting, I cannot imagine an actual level of competitiveness that would intrigue true fans of the game.

I disagree with you..the Gasol &Dirk era would of got smoked by 30 plus..this era has way more international players to choose from. It will be a good game, the NBA players will play hard due to not wanting to take an L, that would look extremely bad.

Probably, but at this point it can't get any worse, so it's worth the try. At least it's something different and something people have been asking for, so I assume there will be at least some increase in the interest/viewership. And at least we get to see Luka and Jokic play together, that would be dope!

gasol, dirk and a bunch of bench warmers vs kobe, bron, kg, duncan, shaq? you'd rather see that then what we got today?
