BRK is at the start of the rebuild so I think they take the best talent regardless of position, so I think they go Maluach here.

Brooklyn has another pick, so I am not going with a C, since there are a few good ones.
Either taking a guard or high end prospect in Jakucionis or Murray-Boyles to me.

Brooklyn will go for what they belive has high value in the league. I think they go CMB. He can look like a two way all star, similar to bridges, quickly with all the usage opportunities he'll get there. Whether he actually becomes that or not won't matter as much as his player types perceived value in the league.

Interesting pick for BRK if it rolls out this way.
Remember they got later picks too. If they dont want to pick a centre and arent crazy on KM as a project, they could go big later. They’ve been linked to like Yang.
They could go Jak, Bryant, Noa here

True, they could get a good big at 19 -- at least one of Fleming, Yang, Wolf, Sorber, Newell etc should be there.
It's possible they go off board with a Coward, Demin, Essengue, Carter type.

Re: Raptors Board Mock Draft - BRK is on the clock (#8)
I agree with Malauch here.
What's funny is I agree with each pick so far and this would be a bad draft for us. But you just know someone will jump up and knock a player down. Just curious who.

I think there will be at least 1 or 2 surprises in the top 8. I can't see all 8 teams having similar draft boards.
But Masai might just disregard the guys who dropped and he takes the guy he always wanted despite the consensus.
Or, he's picking for MIL.

Jak is for sure in play as they need a PG. He’s ranked above Demin for me.

BRK has needs at basically every position. Probably why they're trying to get another pick in the top 10 so they can go small and big.

I just don't see it with Demin. Feels like he's more of a 15-20 plyer.

Lol at all the Maluach haters here that just want us to draft someone else so they're voting for him to be off board at this pick.
Brooklyn isn't drafting him, they already have two centres, one locked up for another 3 years (Claxton) and another they will sign as an RFA on the cheap this offseason (Sharpe). They are desperate for a PG, they have limited options to get one, if they aren't able to move up and get one of the best ones in this draft like they've been trying to (Harper or Fears) they will take whoever is left at 8, probably Kasparas Jakucionis.

There have been rumours of the Lakers sniffing around Claxton.
I don't think BRK worries about Claxton if they believe Maluach is the best available player. They just need talent.

No one on here believes Maluach is the best player at our pick, but somehow everyone believes he's the best player at a pick above our pick. Weird how that works.

I believe he'd be the best player available at our pick and I hope he gets to us.

Yeah, I don't really believe that, I think people just want an interesting poll when it comes to our pick. If Maluach is on board everyone knows we're taking him due to the Masai connection and his past draft record. Now with Maluach off board it can be a question of who we take, not a foregone conclusion.

I have him 5th on my board.
