Boston trades Porzingis and Hauser (RMLE) to Orlando
Orlando trades Isaac to Boston
Trade must be processed before July 1st. (Sportrac approved)
Boston saves 26 million (Isaac’ contract drops to 15 million next season, Hauser 10 million off the books). Isaac brings a new look to the Celtics.
Magic gamble on Porzingis being healthy enough to provide spacing for Paolo and Franz. Hauser also brings much needed outside shooting. They should not be done dealing after this.
Thoughts? Close? Far off? Involve picks? Prefer insight from other teams fans!

Orlando has apron issues so I don't believe they can take on this much salary, no?

They would have to decline team options on Mo Wagner, Harris, Joseph and Houstan. After that They most likely need to make Some more deals. Porzingis expires once Paolo’s extension kicks in.

Re: Bos-Orl
I like it on it's own for ORL, but they'd have to make other moves to get a little breathing room and still upgrade their position of greatest value, a Lead Scoring guard...if they could do that with some combo of KCP, WCJ, Goga, Cole Anthony and pick(s), they'd be in great shape. They'd want to have some indication that KP would be interested in a longer term commitment (at a lower salary).

Agreed, that's the thing with other teams trading for KP without built in space for his $. You can't maneuver the roster to get him and have him bail and go back to BOS for MLE next summer.
BOS wise, it's not my first choice, but I like Isaac as a player and only his salary back is nice.
I would possibly look to flip to POR for Rob or elsewhere to get a player making under the MLE if we really wanna shed money later.

Re: Bos-Orl
What if it was Black and Isaac for KP, Hauser and 28 & 32?
ORL uses 28 & 32 to help dump Jett and Anthony to team X (and Y).

not giving anything for kp...and not trading black unless long term young pg comes back..would not use first to dump anthony or jett cheap expiring contracts both are team options...do not think front office interested in anything from boston except maybe white or pritchard...

Re: Bos-Orl
Isaac for KP makes sense, Isaac can be spun off to the Kings on July 1st into Huerter TPE.
Hauser inclusion isn't realistic under the 1st Apron for the Magic, Magic can send WCJ for Hauser on July 1st, Celtics get a center, Magic get a shooter.

Re: Bos-Orl
Thanks for the replies, looks like Im not the only that thinks that a deal is workable. Sam Hausers inclusion was more to help out Boston but Mavrelous idea to move Isaac to Sac using the TPE sounds good too!
Value wise a straight up trade sounds plausible I guess..

Re: Bos-Orl
Seems like it could be something.
Yeah as others noted the Math gets hard for Orlando in including Hauser, and he is a cheap youngish guy that fits Tatums timeline, so trading him doesn’t make a ton of sense for Boston unless other options to reduce salary have been exhausted.

Not a giant believer in Porzingis, but Orlando needs more incentive than to just help Boston out of salary cap purgatory.

Re: Bos-Orl
I think it would be like
Isaac to Sac
Cole Anthony to Boston
KP to Orlando
And then Orlando’s entire offseason turns into trading KCP+one of WCJ/Goga+other salary/assets for a scoring guard while shaving 10-15 million after the KP trade..
Hauser part Boston can find their out third team for… Orlando should not get that expensive the year before Paolo gets paid. Just doesn’t seem realistic or a good choice for them..

The idea was pick up the options and use as matching salary in the deal. The new picks were just assets to possibly use. But, the premise of getting Black for that package was a stretch goal for sure. I wouldn't expect ORL to bite, and not sure how BOS could make up the difference. Throw it on the "not happening" pile with the rest.

Hard to gauge KP value with his contract and his health. Playing 50% of games for 30 millions...

Low risk, High reward. The expiring contract makes all the difference.

Re: Bos-Orl
I like the basis of a Porzingis/WCJ swap. Celtics need salary savings now, but a long term center. Magic payroll is crowded long term and they need shooting. I like Porzingis as a stretch 5 for them with high upside for one year - they still have Goga and Wagner to make up to try to load manage him. After the year though they'd be happy to let Porzingis walk to keep finances in check with Banchero kicking in. If they do want to stay deep in the tax though, his expiring deal makes for a better filler in a long term move at the deadline than KCP so they could use him that way too.
Tough part is making up the value gap. ORL could include Isaac, though WCJ and Isaac feels heavy for Porzingis. BOS would dump Isaac somewhere (SAC is a good idea) so maybe that teams gives some value?

KP would be a great low risk super high reward move for the Magic. I assume he’d need to pass a physical in any trade, and considering it was a viral illness that wiped out a month of his season and his performance in the playoffs, it’s not like he had another big injury. He could unlock their offense in a big way, and his asking price won’t match his talent.

i dont see how he "unlocks" their offense. they need a legit PG to do that. He is just a big that can shoot 3s.

When he is healthy and on he really is cheat code…obviously the challenge is that was less than half the time last year.
