No other coach in the league has played someone 46:30 minutes without a break....against the Hornets in a blowout.

Most fan bases complain, but we were justified in ours.

We dont need to stray too far from Thibs and reinvent the wheel. We just need a different voice with maybe a different offensive philosophy.

And more flexible defensive philosophy, better rotations, player management, development of the kids, more three point shots from our guys and less from the other guys....

Sure all of those too

I don't think Kidd has the high character we should be looking for in a coach/leader.

Give me Bryant or Hurley. I'm hopeful Leon will see the light.

Only way we get Kidd is if Giannis is coming too. Otherwise, there are better options.

If we're doing preferences of coach even if they have a job or not:

1. Kenny Atkinson - yes I would give up a FRP (heavily protected) for him
2. Ime Udoka - the man has done wonders with the Celtics and they love him. He has raised the floor for Houston and pushed them into a faster timeline.
3. Johnny Bryant - possibly infused a younger coach that is willing to think outside of the box. His downfall will be his head coaching experience that has aspirations to win a title within the next 3 years
4. Mike Malone - because he has that championship pedigree, because he understands this rabid fanbase

I posted in the last thread too but it was crazy, and there's new rules to figure how to post nicely in this topic

I thought they had more of a plan, are we getting a new coach at least by today???

All accounts say this search will go on for a while and the Knicks are casting a wide net.

The first coaching search under Leon took weeks.

It should not take too long to pick anybody since Thibs was so terrible...

Leon took weeks in his first search and still his picked his longtime friend as head coach.

Hopefully he picks the right person and not just his friend this time.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Considering where the Knicks were at when he made that hire and where they’re at now, was it really a bad decision?

I dont see how they can pull this Giannis deal off and keep Kat...
but yeah I hope they see the light on Bryant. He's been in the NBA long enough.
All of these head coaches has benefited off of his contributions too.

When they (hopefully) talk with Bryant and Hurley, they'll realize that both of these guys have brilliant basketball minds and impressive bodies of work. They are also both young enough to lead this team for 5+ years. Some young coaches have been killing it in the NBA these days (Ime, Mazula, Daigneault, etc.).

Just run it back with JVG

I love JVG, I would've said yes 5 years ago. But why now? If people were not happy with Thibs, why would they be happy with JVG now? Do you think he has changed regarding spacing? JVG loves his big man in the post. Would he be okayw ith KAT jacking up 8 3s a game because thats what I want KAT to do.

I like him because we know he's a great coach and can handle New York.

Who do you want that will get more out of KAT?

This would be my preferred direction.

I kinda dont care who we pick to coach. Only cause, if I'm beign honest, idk the difference between any of these coaches. So having an opinion, while fun, would be pretty ridiculous.

THAT SAID, id prefer not to have Kidd for his past transgressions, least of all, he quit on us, which of itself is unforgivable.

Also, giving up picks for a coach is a no.
