Before these past playoffs neither was Gary Trent jr. Before the playoffs I thought it would be smart for the Bucks to layoff of Nembhard from 3 but he is shooting over 40% from 3 eventhough he shot less than 30% in the reg season. You never know. Kispert could work. I like that he can operate inside the 3pt line.

However, One Wizard I think the Bucks should go after is Saddiq Bey. They could use Livingston salary to match.

I think a 3 team deal with the Cavs, Bucks. And Wiz could be worked out.

Cavs - Livingston
Wiz - Pat and Cavs '25 and '26 2nd rd picks.
Bucks - Okoro and Bey.

The Cavs create some much needed space, the Wiz get two picks, and the Bucks get two bigger wing defenders on the cheap who have had decent 3pt shooting years in the past.

Mke: Coby White, Jalen Smith, MPJ
Den: Cam Johnson, Pat
Sas: ‘31 Mke 1st
Bkn: Dame, #14, #38, ‘31 Den 1st, Den 2nd
Chi: Claxton, ‘26 Mke swap, #47

Not sure how the draft assets move around. Maybe all the assets go to Brooklyn, and maybe another swap gets added by us.

It's not close to what I'd trade him for unforced, but it's one of the better ones I've seen.

Maybe if you want to have the ceiling of a play in team with no way to improve with 28 year olds right before they drop off at 30. This trade is beyond brutal. What purpose would Brunson/OG/Robinson serve on the Bucks? you can’t possibly think you can win as a **** version of the current Knicks.

Kispert can't defend anyone, which will be hunted in the playoffs, and struggles to score versus physical defense.

Saw a random trade proposal from some guy writing for a rag I never heard of, so this must be real:

Dallas: gets Giannis and Bucks second would pick this year
Bucks: get Flagg, Klay, PJ Washington, Gafford, Lively, 2026 firstround pick (via LA), 2030 second rouns pick (via philly) and 2031 pick swap.

Seems that the impetus for this is that Kidd really wants Giannis and they have a connection.

The defense is the concern, and perhaps that would make it a better idea to look elsewhere, but we’re also only moving off Pat and a couple 2nds. We need guys who can play, and he can.

As for offense, I think that would translate just fine to the playoffs. He’s a good shooter with deep range, does a ton of it off movement with a really high degree of difficulty, and he’s also adept at getting to and finishing at the rim. The latter part is a thing we haven’t often had with shooters, and would be valuable.

Obviously if you had to trade Giannis, Flagg would be an ideal target. The problem though is it basically leaves you with a gutted roster, no future picks, and no real assets to trade for future picks. How are you supposed to build a roster around Flagg?

If the Timberwolves are looking to get off of money to sign Naz Reid long term maybe they'd be willing to move DiVincenzo and give Terrance Shannon an opportunity to step up at the 2 guard.

Donte could step into the Gary Trent role and allow the Bucks to use the MLE somewhere else...

Maybe something like Pat and a 2nd for Donte? Saves the Wolves a little over $3m this year and gets them off of Donte's $12m in 26-27 entirely.

You dont. You build his value and trade him too. Hopefully you get some good picks along with him and the end result looks good. I think in any Giannis trade it has to be about planting an asset tree to grow many many branches off of.

I’m also interested in what the Wolves might do.

Could we just absorb Donte or Conley into our MLE?

Not sure they deal Donte only for cap relief though considering he was a centerpiece of the KAT trade.

Jaden McDaniels is also someone I’ve been thinking about but their GM is talking the talk about him at least:

McDaniels is often involved in armchair GM trade ideas. Either Connelly is a heckuva salesman, or he legitimately thinks McDaniels is going to continue improving until he reaches an elite level.

"I think the sky's the limit. I think he's one of the best young players in the NBA. His mid-range game is unbelievably under-appreciated. His ability to get shots," Connelly said of McDaniels. "Defensively, there's not a better young defensive wing in the NBA. He's already really, really good, but we think he's got a chance to be great."

Might as well just pack up and move the team to Seattle if the plan is to trade Giannis for Flagg so we can trade Flagg for ????

Sounds like something Sam Hinkie would come up with.

McDaniels would be great. What about this?

Bucks get: Donte, McDaniels
Wolves get: Pat, Sexton
Jazz get: Kuzma, Bucks 31 first

Saves the Wolves like $8m this year plus nets them a decent guard to replace Donte. Gets the Bucks off Kuzma and adds two really solid rotation pieces / defenders.

Any proposal I can get behind doesn't include trading Flagg. My hope is that the cap room available after the trade will bring some free agents over.

McDaniels is a good-but-overrated defender and has range to basically exactly the FT line and no farther. If there was a lot to unpack with him offensively, I wonder what could be possibly keeping him from unpacking it on a team desperate for a consistent 2nd perimeter option next to Ant. He has very limited range and can't handle the ball.

I don't even particularly like his contract at this point. It's out of line for a guy who can't create.

That is the reality of not having your own picks. Its not enough to have one elite player. We are viewing that in real time. So unless we can get some of our own picks back, we dont have an opportunity to tank and draft multiple high lottery picks in a 3 to 5 year span until 2031 at the earliest.

Alright, so, lets say you can start that process in 2031 but also add in a boat load of real assets that we have accumulated and regenerated from the Giannis trade tree in that time. Probably most of the picks we initially get in the trade will not fit our new timeline so we keep swapping them for potentially higher value picks down the road.
We also become extreme opportunists, capitalizing on the desperation of league contenders by flipping players and taking on salaries. Then 2031 hits, we can now complement our tank quest with a war chest of draft capital.

Is it guaranteed to work? No, but there is no other way to build a championship roster in Milwaukee. The alternative is to become the Bulls. Does anyone want to be the Bulls?

What's the bar to qualify as an elite player? How many do the Pacers have?

You have to trade your good players for worse players in the hopes that they one day can become good enough to trade for worse players. Eventually, you will develop a critical mass of bad players and that, son, is how babies are made. What were we talking about?
