Sarver wasn't this bad and Sarver was awful, one of the worst.

This guy is bad news since day one. It took a while for fans to realize unfortunately. And some still support him. He has killed any interest I have in watching and rooting for this team. An absolute clown.

Sarver was bad and a shrewd owner, trying to save money.

But Ishiba is the worst owner and makes Sarver look good.

Not only was Booker apparently allowed to make input in team movements and personnel but he was interviewing coaches.

Booker is the problem for the Suns. He's a deluxe Kevin Martin being treated like Kobe.

29 GM's licking their chops.

Which organization is a bigger dumpster fire: Phoenix or Sacramento?

Suns. Phoenix don't control their draft picks for years from now, Kings going into the rebuilding mode will be laughable considering the last 20 years, but at least they can do it.

Maybe he'll do a decent job. It hasn't gone great so far.

If I owned a multi billion dollar sports team i'd probably want to live out my 2k MyGM fantasy too.

There's been very few instances in sports history where a team owner being more hands on or involved in team affairs has led to a positive outcome for said team. Unfortunately Ishbia has "smartest guy in the room" vibes and will learn the hard way.

This reminds me of when James Dolan got control of the Knicks. He wanted to be involved but pretended he was letting the pros do their jobs. He overpaid for over the hill veterans in trades and hired terrible coaches and staff. It was essentially two decades of misery. It looks like PHX may be at the start of their own two decades of misery….

Haha, this is probably true for the majority of RealGM, in that most would not be hands off owners

This is the true for all of us, no doubt. But first - do not pretend you let experts cook when you clearly tanked the team hard with your forced moves, and second - just do not be so tonedeaf and use language like, experts couldn't do it, so I will do it. Just say how it is - you want to play myGM mode in real life. If you are honest and just came out and said you bought the team for 6 billion to do that, people would still hate you, but they would understand I think. Guy instead literally said he will replace ''experts'' to fix things, thats not how you win public support.

This story leaked, because someone surely was appalled after seeing that e mail. Nowadaas, I have became far less judgemental of GMs, because I realized how tied their hands are by owners.

"I’ve tried running the typical NBA owner playbook – hiring the experts, signing the checks, and getting out of the way – and none of us were happy with the outcome.''

I don't know what kind of psychedelic substances Ishbia takes, but I want some too.

There's actual smartest guy in the room and there's 'thinks he's the smartest guy in the room because everyone around him is paid to kiss his ass'.
