Any GM taking back a 30 year old all star for Giannis should be fired.

Remember, it's still a profitable business. If Giannis leaves, the Bucks still need to sell tickets and give the fans something to see. I can see them going the route of bringing in someone like KAT (for tickets) while still conducting a rebuild. Otherwise, their income stream would collapse.

I doubt with Tatum injury and Pacers going to the final, Bucks trade giannis, maybe next year if bucks fail again.

Fail again?

Dame is done for the year, Brook is old and Kuzma sucks, they’re done.

So dudes can cheat on beautiful black women, smoke crack, gamble on games and any and everything else but the minute anything religious is brought into the office is blacklist time?!
That's kinda foul.

I remember Marv Albert getting caught wearing women's underwear and still got back in the booth! but I digress

I'm not judging anyone's off-court behavior as right or wrong. I'm only saying there's a reason Mark Jackson is no longer employed on any level in the NBA -- and I believe it's because of his religious/homophobic opinions.

Yeah, a coach who tries to heal an injury with holy water is not coaching material

I believe the Celtics coach is very religious as well, but I don't think he mixed it with actual bball like Mark Jackson did

Management has the right to hire and fire people. Everyone knows Tibbs did a great job. How are the New York Knicks going forward to be a better managed team and win a championship? Who is next as coach? Player changes are needed. My opinion is Coach Malone is the best candidate for the new head coach.

Nobody is paying to see a lineup of

Kevin Porter Jr
Gary Trent
Kuzma
Portis
KAT

That team is not competing for anything and it doesn't have the promise of hope that comes with young players. I don't think you guys really understand how bad their roster is to think anyone is going to pay to see that. By comparison, you can definitely sell people on having a team full of young player that they can project out into the future and say "Give em a couple of years".

If I were in their position I'd absolutely want

Green or Sengun
Sheppard & Whitmore or Eason
10th pick, Suns picks

Over anything we can offer.

I am just hoping the decision was made with the FO’s approval and not just Dolan’s.

a couple things...Giannis will have a say where he goes. All superstars do. MIL just can't send them wherever they want.

And where are the matching contracts you are sending. You sending them all guys that add up to like 10 MM in salaries...

also if your the GM your getting fired anyway...those packages make you a top 5 worst team in the league...and you don't even have your own pick to be in the lottery. You get fired in 2 years and then someone else becomes the GM.

They wont fire you if you make the play-in at least.

The GMs job is to do what's best for the franchise, and this idea Giannis can just dictate where he wants to go doesn't work because he's under contract for 3 more years. KD has a say in where he goes because he's a free agent at the end of the season, they can send Giannis to whoever offers them the best chance at a future. We do not have anything they can build on, nothing at all. If the Rockets decide to offer up Sengun and picks, why would any sane GM accept our offer over theirs?

You cannot sell a fanbase on a 30 yr old all-star when their roster is completely depleted, there's no hope or promise to look forward to. The Bucks will get back picks and young players for him if they move him.

I think there is a way to trade KAT for Giannis
Now to expand... would we trade KAT and OG for Giannis and Kuz?
Does Kolek and perhaps Pac have enough juice to sweeten it so the Bucks feel they have a competitive roster until Dame comes back?

IMO Knicks need to stop making drastic changes to the roster. They need to build on what they have and add a 6th man spark plug type of guy. Getting rid of OG and KAT gets rid of your best defensive guy and 2nd best offensive guy in one swoop Giannis is a great player, but I don't think it's worth it.

Plus why would we need to trade that much salary? KAT & Giannis have almost the same cap annual cap hits.

Plus it's ANOTHER guy that can't hit free throws. We can't afford another.

clearly communication has been a major issue, and he seems to have been part of the problem on a couple levels.

we need someone who can talk to them. and positively influence how they talk to each other.

Trust me when I say that the Knicks already have an agreement with a coach. Leon Rose would not go into this blindly unless someone was in the wings. That's why if I'm Cleveland you have a hard decision to make if it's Johnnie Bryant. Would you let him out or try to get compensation and be petty.
Leon who would never hold someone back from a good situation.

On the Thibs note, if I were a coach out there on the hot seat, I'd be worried. Thibs is a great coach to get you moving in the right direction and is getting paid handsomely by the Knicks as in a $30 million bonus for doing just that here. Surely, he'll be in demand for a team in need to right the ship.

Think the announcement comes during the finals? I’d assume Dolan would love to take the attention and tweak the league.

Reading that the FO may be catering to Brunson doesn't sound all that great to me if true.

Not that they shouldn't care what Brunson thinks, but the last thing this club needs is a coach who just hands him the keys without coaching up his game as a floor general.

What a player wants or prefers is not necessarily what is good for the team or that player themself.

I am pretty sure an assistant coach is allowed to leave for a head coaching job. I feel like that's always been how it goes in the NBA.
