NO - MEM [revised]

Post#1 » by esvl » Wed Jun 4, 2025 5:15 pm

Herb Jones

for

Clarke

Konchar
Vince Williams Jr

1st 2026 (top-5 protected)
1st 2028 (top-5 protected)

NO admits that Herb is done at NO and gets picks desired at the rebuilding/retooling stage

MEM gets an elite big wing defender they have been looking for years

What happens to the 26 if it lands in the lottery? Does it just disappear?

other teams outbid this easily. those picks are too well protected to be of interest to NOP

I think this is more than a fair price. But I wouldn't want to pay this coming off a torn labrum surgery that can take up to a year to recovery and mess with a players shot. He only has one year out of 4 to shooting over league average from 3.

And I guess this would be after JJJ declines to renegotiate since a Konchar dump would be needed to accomplish it?

I do think if things look bleak in NO they should trade Herb as soon as he shows he is healthy this coming season.

Labrum injuries don’t take a year, 6 months probably. And it was his right shoulder. He’s left handed.

I’m not laughing at the offer, but no, I would want more. For sure less protections on the picks to even talk.

FFS. I forgot it. Then Clarke and 2 1sts is the only option for us.

There's a decent chance those picks don't convey, given how the West is shaping up and the Grizzlies long history of unavailability by their stars (injury or plain stupidity). If I were the Pelicans I wouldn't consider this unless the protections were significantly lighter.

I do think Herb can be available to get better shooting around Zion, but with the public backing of Zion signaling a run for the play-in, I'd imagine they want some on-court upgrade in another position/skillset. I guess if these picks could be used to acquire a good guard or Center.

No one is trading two unprotected picks for a role player
