Would next season's possible pairing of Giannis + SGA be a better duo than Prime Shaq and Kobe?

We may be 3 wins away from an OKC Dynasty

Post#1 » by Knicks365247 » Fri Jun 6, 2025 5:07 am

That's right, 3 wins and *not* 4.

If OKC loses the Finals, they're going to go after Giannis HARD and then, health permitting, win the next 3 championships virtually guaranteed.

JDub/Hartenstein/Isaiah Joe + Whatever picks to get it done
for
Giannis

Then use some assets to acquire another big man (preferably a stretch 5).

Giannis + SGA might even be a better duo than Prime Shaq and Kobe.

The rest of the league is probably praying OKC can win this series....

Why would Giannis want to play in OKC after seeing how they are treating Chet?

The offense would have to significantly change. Then again, if Giannis is being traded there because "he wants to win," you understand that this is SGA's team and its incumbent upon you to fit into to what he's doing. Which is one of the reasons I don't see Giannis wanting to go to OKC.

Dame is an even better PnR threat than SGA and Giannis refused to change his game for him. Why would this be any different.

I like SGA a lot, but he isnt PG. Just SG with ball in his hand. They play like Tatum/BOS. If these teams would play against equal talent with normal PG, they would lose b/c of stagnant offence.

the fact that they had 20 turnovers in one half and were only up 10 is pathetic, if SGA was an all time great level player they would have been up by 30 at the half and game would have been over

Don't think Milwaukee will trade Giannis anywhere he doesn't to go. We dont even know if he wants to play there.

Also, yes OKC has the assets to get it done, but Presti has never cashed in all his chips for a big fish before and I'm not sure he suddenly will. They can still try again next year with more or less the same squad before they have to worry about salary commitments.

Giannis in OKC would be absolutely scary. What's even scarier is that they don't even need to just stop there. They can add even more if they wanted.

Thunder aren't getting Giannis without giving up Chet.

Milwaukee will get JDub and LIKE IT!

Chet-lana is SGA's main trick. He won't let her get away.

Still believe in OKC but I thought they learned from the Denver series. They still got some Nick Anderson in them

OKC can put together by far the best package for Giannis. If they want him, he's theirs.

I don't see the offensive synergy between Giannis and SGA. They are not complementary players.

OKC doesnt have the spacing to accomodate Giannis. And the fit with SGA is really akward.

Taking shaq and kobe all day. Sga is not made for this kind of battle. He can prove me wrong these finals.

Prime shaq >>>>>>>>>>> giannis
And i also like kobe over sga. Sga has better advanced metrics. But im not sure how much that matters. Kobe is a different animal.

We are way too quick to crown sga. He has not proven anything. Kobe played in so many big games sga is dreaming of those moments.

Ask this question again in 10-15 years and lets see what sga has become.
im bout dat action boss

Shaq, Kobe is the best duo in history. Imo.
So, no they're not going to be better.
But if Okc does this, the league is theirs.
