Masai has a lot of pieces to shuffle, I’m really interested in seeing how he tries to elevate our roster to contender status. I don’t see anything transpiring.. our bench is too inexperienced and our starting 5 needs more shooting. Shead could have a good year and step up, but we need more at the backup forwards and centre position.

If we need more shooting why are we getting rid of IQ? IQ is at least as good as RJ on defense as well.

His mid range was elite this year.

He was? He shot 44% overall from midrange this year.

He shot 48.0% from 10-14ft. Barnes shot 47.9% on more attempts from that range and no one is calling him elite.

If they were offered for each other straight up, who says no?

The Pelicans easily say no. Murphy took a massive leap in his volume scoring while still being very efficient. He's also on arguably the biggest bargain contract in the entire league going forward. They have him locked in at 28m AAV going for the next 4 seasons which is an absolute steal.

lmao a 1/3 of the price? Murphy is likely untouchable but if he was on the market he would be going for more than what Bridges went for. Younger, better shooter and scorer, likely better defender as well and on an absolute bargain contract for the next 4 seasons.

The Bridges deal was the result of the Knicks getting played because they were desperate lol I will bet you right now that Murphy won’t come anywhere close to commanding 5 firsts. Are you thinking any current top SF will get a “Paul George” like offer or do you understand context of desperate franchises not setting the standard?’ Would you like to take that bet?!?

Also Google it but Yahoo Sports reported about a week ago that the Pelicans said that “no player was untouchable”. I can admit that he is likely the player they’d most like to hold on to but they have opened the door for offers and I’d rather pursue that.

It's a pointless bet because he wouldn't get moved for a draft pick heavy package in the first place. He's turning 25 and signed for 4 years through his prime at a bargain contract. They would only move him if it was for a Superstar, even then it would be unlikely because it would make more sense to pair him with one than move him because his game is so plug and play and fits with anyone.

What is there to pursue? What's a realistic offer we could make?

Yep me too thats a no brainer accept for me i would figure Bucks would ask for 3 FRPs on top of the package if its only 2....Easy deal to say yes too...You lose 2 role players, and a fringe all star in Barnes for top 3 player....Them 2 extra FRPs prolly end up in the 20s as long as Giannis is here...And the 9th pick this year might be or might not be a good player...

Yeah, I'd actually say that second deal is better for us than the first, considering the Scottie/Giannis fit might not be great.

We'd still have a lineup of:

IQ/Shead
RJ/Jakobe
Ingram/Battle
Giannis/Mogbo
Poeltl/Chomche

I know it's not a great bench (all rookies), and there's a lot of injury risk, but we'd still have assets to grow. I'm assuming we'd be going into the tax to sign some vets, and that we could (in theory) pick up a few bargains to fill out the roster. Or, maybe we look to trade one of IQ or RJ to get depth.

Personally, I think the biggest argument against trading for Giannis would be that the cost will be too high. I think that more realistically, they'd want that package along with ALL the picks/swaps we can actually send. That makes it less ideal, because we'd be sort of stuck after that.

Scottie Barnes
Ochai Agbaji
Gradey Dick (Milwaukee, please look at November and December tapes only!)
2025 No. 9 pick
2028 1st-round pick
2029 1st-round swap

The most I'd offer is

RJ, Quickely, Ochai, Gradey, Lawson, Castleton and our assortment of picks
For
Giannis, Connaughton, Kumza

Scottie was hot then cooled off. Giannis was consistently at that level all season.

Yeah am I crazy or is the pipe dream a bigger pay than the real deal?

Barnes / Ochai / Dick / #9 / 2028 1st / 2029 Swap
OR
RJ / Poeltl / Dick / Shead / #9 / 2028 1st / 2030 1st / 2029 swap / 2031 swap

I think the writer is heavily overrating Barnes. I would 100% rather give up Barnes and retain RJ / Poeltl / Agbaji / 2030 1st
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Yeah Knicks really only have players to offer.

But the Knicks are idiots if they give up Mikal AND KAT. They become a capped out team of:

Brunson
Hart
OG
???
Giannis

with no bench and no pick to upgrade anything else. They also would have to take back Kuzma.

For those saying “the Bucks can’t tank”, I would then argue that trying for a Bridges or OG + KAT trade keeps them more competitive than anything we can offer.

Sorry, I know we are trying to speak it into existence by dismissing everyone else's alleged offer lol.
