we don't know yet. Just last offseason Mikal and OG league wide were worth a combined 7 1st round picks...that is known fact. I don't see how there value draftically changed since that point.
And we aren't even talking KAT yet but he can't be worse less then what we traded for him he's coming off one of his best seasons.
Two things can be true...we need Giannis to request a trade here...you are also underselling out assets. Because easily you can break down individual pieces to other teams and get draft capital.
Like you don't think OG on the Spurs for example would be elite with Fox and Wemby...they would give a ton of picks to get OG. That is just one example.
we always disagree when it comes to these things. you always think we're gonna pay less in salary for guys and that we can get them without much in a trade. melo wanted to be here. no discount accepted. donovan mitchell wanted to be here. no discount accepted. but a top 3 player in the league we're gonna get one on ? no sir.
your not understanding my point. There was legit rumors teams like the rockets and grizz were willing to give up 4 1st rounders for Mikal last year. There were confirmed reports teams also offered 3 1st rounders for OG.
Who knows what assets KAT would have in a legit trade.
I know you say we are asset starved but you can for example move OG to the spurs for an expiring contract like Harrison Barnes and Keldon Johnson who aint **** or maybe MIL wants Vassell...then also send like 3 1st round picks to MIL and that covers some of the cost...now you would have to figure out the rest as well including more teams...it certainly is complicated....it also isn't impossible.
And these are just hypothetical obviously.
The best course of action is listing out the teams that probably are Giannis ideal spots to land and then try to put down what they can offer. A lot of these teams don't even have the contracts to make it work.
