I don't understand how you guys can watch the league right now, see that depth matters even more now because of the aprons, and come away thinking Big 3s without a bunch of guys around them can still work.

If you were going to trade, KD actually makes more sense than Giannis.

You're stuck in a big 3 either way. I'll take the better, younger player.

Also you can try Brunson, KAT and Giannis for a year. Then if you want you can pivot out and trade for role players by moving one of them if you want.

Also you can't complain about the Knicks not using their bench and then say we have no depth if we trade for Giannis. Can't have it both ways.

If Giannis is available for 2 of the 3 of KAT, OG, Bridges… I think you gotta make the move. Players like Giannis don’t grow on trees especially when they still have 4 years of prime left. Giannis and Brunson… two top 10 guys… then figure out the rest. Good role players can be found for min deals or we could use Hart if necessary.

For what its worth: As of June 6, 2025, Jason Kidd is not listed as a client of Creative Artists Agency (CAA)." Hope the talk of jk is a smokescreen.

No, you're not stuck with a big 3 either way, KD will take significantly less to get than Giannis, and he actually has some control where he goes because he's a free agent at the end of next season. We'd have to essentially gut the team to get Giannis, with no assets left to fill out the roster. I'm assuming you're fine with trading Mikal, Hart and OG to get him since we're somehow keeping KAT in a Giannis trade, so we're losing 3 high level rotational players, getting back 1 superstar and apparently thrusting our young players into starting roles, since we'll need an SG and two forwards.

How can you not see that the Bucks and Suns are the end result of exactly what you're talking about.

Leon Rose hasn’t hit on everything he’s done. He’s had a lot of misses. Fournier, Kemba, Noel and Burks re-signing, etc.

I don’t think Kidd is a terrible coach, but he doesn’t have much of a resume to be excited about. His playoff record is below average. But he’s coached a lot of flawed teams. This would be the first ‘complete’ team he’s coached. I think he would be better than hiring a retread if we want to go the experience route.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

For anyone still wasting time on that Giannis 'tsunami' tweet - read above from a long time Bucks fans. Other Bucks fans said the same thing.

not so fast Sham...
You saw what the Lakers got Luka for...
Giannis brought a chip to the Bucks and resigned with them giving them a chance. There could be a gentleman's agreement between the Bucks and Giannis to allow him to go to a team of his choice. Not to mention, the league is clearly influencing these key moves-especially after
they signed all of these multi billion dollar network deals. Maybe that's why they steered Indy into the finals. Just my opinion...

we don't know yet. Just last offseason Mikal and OG league wide were worth a combined 7 1st round picks...that is known fact. I don't see how there value draftically changed since that point.

And we aren't even talking KAT yet but he can't be worse less then what we traded for him he's coming off one of his best seasons.

Two things can be true...we need Giannis to request a trade here...you are also underselling out assets. Because easily you can break down individual pieces to other teams and get draft capital.

Like you don't think OG on the Spurs for example would be elite with Fox and Wemby...they would give a ton of picks to get OG. That is just one example.

we always disagree when it comes to these things. you always think we're gonna pay less in salary for guys and that we can get them without much in a trade. melo wanted to be here. no discount accepted. donovan mitchell wanted to be here. no discount accepted. but a top 3 player in the league we're gonna get one on ? no sir.

your not understanding my point. There was legit rumors teams like the rockets and grizz were willing to give up 4 1st rounders for Mikal last year. There were confirmed reports teams also offered 3 1st rounders for OG.

Who knows what assets KAT would have in a legit trade.

I know you say we are asset starved but you can for example move OG to the spurs for an expiring contract like Harrison Barnes and Keldon Johnson who aint **** or maybe MIL wants Vassell...then also send like 3 1st round picks to MIL and that covers some of the cost...now you would have to figure out the rest as well including more teams...it certainly is complicated....it also isn't impossible.

And these are just hypothetical obviously.

The best course of action is listing out the teams that probably are Giannis ideal spots to land and then try to put down what they can offer. A lot of these teams don't even have the contracts to make it work.

Eaxctly and there are ways to make this work especially if he specifically requests coming to NY.
