Then package 5 FRP's and Herro and Ware for Giannis

That is not happening, better prepare yourself for the Herro max extension
They're not going to tank for useless picks, they're trying to win now with the best players they can get/keep

minimum guys and no picks for the foreseeable future. I'm trying to see the vision, at least in the KD/Giannis scenario we had two offensive stars

We're down bad. We have no good options. We put ourselves in a very bad spot.
1) No moves = boring = depressing - but also the quickest way to start digging out from the hole.
2) Make a desperate move for KD - at least creats some buzz - but quickly becomes a even deeper hole we'll need to climb out of - and with fewer assets
3) Making lateral moves just to try to create better chemistry and get the stink out of our court won't really change our destiny but this is the rare case that a change for the sake of change is desperately needed - even if we'll still suck.
Bottom line - tank the year, regroup, recoup, rebuild. Will be more fun winning 23 game with Larsson Ware and #20 then winning 32 games with Wiggins, Duncan and Bam killing himself out there.
Down bad aka in comparable position to the majority of the NBA
This Miami doomer stuff is so overblown and spoiled behavior. We are not that far away
1) Not that far away from what, exactly?
Did you see the Cavs series?
Are the Cavs historically great?
Was it a competitive series?
2) I don't think our LONG TERM future is that bad, IF we make the right moves now.
Our next or 2 next seasons - yea we're **** either way, we're not contending for chit no matter what we do.
So we better think about how are making sure we bounce back by 2027, and not dig the hole even deeper by making desperate moves that will not help the immediate future but will put us in a worse position in the longer term.

Would still have Wiggins, JJJ, Jovic, and Larson in this scenario.
This is more of a defensive build but the spacing would be there for Beal to have a bounce back year so the gamble is that he returns relatively close to peak form but in a complimentary role.

The math doesnt come close to working to keep all of those guys. Jagsmith, Duncan, Terry out to Phoenix, Herro and Ware to Milwaukee, we'd still have to clear 20+ to take on Giannis..so that's either all of the kids + Kyle, or Wiggins. Beal also has a 15% trade kicker in his contract, haven't seen anything from that guy that suggests that he isnt about getting of all his money.

The giannis part of 5 FRPs Herro and Ware is the meat of the offer
The math works when filler is added like slowmo's 9m and Love's 4-5m

Sacrificing roster flexibility for 3 seasons in exchange for 2 FRPs isn’t a good move.
Rozier and Duncan are expiring with Duncan non guaranteed, there is no real reason to unload them unless we are using them as filler in a big deal.
People may not like it but Miami enters into a really good spot here in a year with cap and contracts, basically all the filth and waste fall of the books and we are left with the meat and potatoes that make up the current team still locked in with space to add a max player.
Patience
The only move I’d really explore right now is KD

I mean Bam/Jimmy almost won a championship, you should probably roll the dice on Giannis/Bam if that’s even an option lol (it’s probably not) and Bam actually shoots 3s now as opposed to Jimmy/Bam not taking them when they ran the east

Furthermore, hypothetically, if Giannis and Beal are added to a roster that already has Bam, the rest of the stuff are moving parts.
Dont have to keep, Wiggins, JJJ, Jovic etc.

Point is to gain the draft ammo to go after Giannis now.
Or to at least have a subsequent plan to use those pick.

Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 1
Not like I'm chomping at the bit or anything, but I do like Duncan Robinson, and in spurts he is fine. If we trade him and the team that takes him uses the early termination option, is he able to rejoin us as a signing or are we ruled out? I know if someone is waived, there are rules to stop the team trading him out from signing him back in some weird wink wink agreement, but is Duncan's contract different, not like a usual waiver, but like a specific term that ends the contract?
To be clear, I assume it is just the normal thing and we can't resign him, but I'd take him back after we've exhausted cap on like a min or exception if it didn't affect our potential for other moves.

How do you suggest we tank? We better fire Spo, trade away Bam and Herro for future picks to make it possible. Cuz Spo will take a mediocre team to the play-in torny. Besides Dallas won the first pick. Tanking doesn't guarantee anything.

For all the moaning about Herro (not from you specifically) I cant believe we’re cool with Bradley Beal’s contract

It's an interesting trade idea. But I don't think Giannis will want to go from a team with no depth and 50 mil in dead money to another team with no depth and 50 mil in dead money.
He will have other options, where he'll be able to compete.
This trades guts, his depth and assets. They will have now way to add players except via draft with limited 1st round picks and no 2nd picks or g league. And once Bam extenstion kicks, they will be over 2nd apron.

What was your prediction for the Heat-Cavs series? I feel like that’s a good barometer of how objective you’re being.
