Re: Sacramento - Brooklyn - Dallas - Boston
This is good.
My note:
Kings fans have been on board with Marshall(with 2nds to Dallas) or Martin (with 2nds to Sacramento). I think Dallas would want to try and send one of them and take Hauser. They have a real lack of shooting already and this takes a good shooter and a passable one away.

Re: Sacramento - Brooklyn - Dallas - Boston
Looking at Sac’s in/out makes me think they’d give up that first for Naji/PJ? Dallas dumps Hardy using seconds and keep the variance first for a future deal (or hopefully just keep it).. Just personal preference, not what I think Dallas would do. (Sum is Naji, Hardy, 26th, 2nds for Klay and a pick likely to convey in early teens.. so not great value but I’m still taking the upside)
But I think everyone in OP should do their deal. Brooklyn would be actively looking to flip Klay, but they can do that later. I do think it would be pretty easy for them to turn him into less money and make the overall deal feel better for Brooklyn.

I like a clean Monk/PJ swap better. I don't think SAC should be giving up future 1sts even protected.

How is Dallas getting depth when it's 2 for 1? That draft pick will likely amount to a Josh Green or Omax.
Ddr is not the guy for Dallas, terrible defensive player who can't spread the floor. We know you don't think much of PJ, but good grief

This is terrible value for the Nets. They waste a significant amount of cap space for 2 years, give up a late first and very high 2nd for one first with limited upside due to protections. There's no guarantee that future pick is better. There's a decent pick that it would never convey. Sacramento isn't exactly a play-in or better lock in the Western Conference.

Nice trade.
I feel like Brooklyn swapping 26 and 36 and getting a future first to take on Klay could use some work.
Does Dallas really need 26 here? DDR is an upgrade of Klay imo and PJ certainly has value but as an expiring is he worth a first?
I am ok with the value sac gives up in that future first as they get two really solid young players.

Agreed.
Kings need to save their 1sts for next offseason when they can package LaVine (huge expiring) with assets/picks in an attempt to get a better star.
A Monk/PJ swap is very much in play.

Klay cost a late 1st to eat into space. 2 late 1st and a 2nd for a projected mid 1st in the next year or 2 is fair imo.

Agreed.
DDR is a terrible fit in this version of the Mavs, he's not even a guard anymore.
I dont want to dilute PJ value just to dump Klay, deal is pretty rough for Dallas.

I think they keep Monk given the multiple teams missing a PG/looking for upgrade there this year, but i guess if you're comfortable with ellis/carter that works too

I think Terrible is a strong word here but I agree they need more Value. I’d say let them keep 26 and it’s better.

Dallas should probably bail at that point though. And then Dallas just deals direct with the Kings. It becomes PJ/Marshall/Hardy(or Powell depending on values) for Derozan and Dallas takes the future pick which is more valuable anyway.
The OP has some advantages, but not if the Nets believe they can do better with their space. Dallas should say okay, we hear you and we'll figure out how to shed some money elsewhere.
Dallas shouldn't overpay to dump Klay Thompson. He's overpaid but much like you point out Jrue isn't dead money, Klay isn't either. Still a player teams guard and so his spacing is still valuable, obviously he can't defend like he did so he's overpaid, but he's not dead money. I appreciate to the Nets they would treat him as such because they don't want to win and the opportunity cost matters. But there are teams who could use Klay as a bench shooter so Dallas shouldn't treat him a $30M negative like that.

Re: Sacramento - Brooklyn - Dallas - Boston
I think if BOS gets involved they'd wanna sub Jrue for DeRozan and kick SAC to the curb. Not help eliminate another team eliminate option for him and take a good player they'd want.
But, if the other 3 team deal happened first, not much they can do. And they'd probably do Hauser for 36. My guess is they won't be ready to do that at draft, though. Hauser is probably the last mile depending on how Jrue / KP trades go in the summer.

The kings shouldn't be including a first here. We aren't getting anything worth giving up a pick with DeRozan going out

Yeah that’s fair. Dallas needs something here….it just seems like it’s off for the Nets. Maybe Sac should send Dallas one of their decent seconds…I think they have a couple of Charlotte ones.

Simple as this if Sac doesn't tear down.
