their management sucks, the only way they stay relevant is by being well funded so they can license good shows like Pat McAfee and Inside the NBA

Even then I’ve watched minuscule clips of McAfee. I just can’t take a guy who wears a tank top 90% of the time on a national tv show seriously.

I always purposely avoided even watching clips of him because of that stupid tank top . Didn't really find out who he was until LeBron was a guest.

Certainly, the appeal of sports commentary as reality TV for men, complete with fueds between hosts and scripted controversies

I prefer sports shows as complementary to the game rather than their own cinematic universes, but that's probably because I have a low diet for sports shows in general, since there's only so much you can say. I can see how the Jerry Springer aesthetic could garner a more regular viewership, but it's certainly for a different audience

i only used to watch ath and pti, but only to get sports news of the day. i always turned away from espn in general

Perkins is hated by OKC fans. His 8m/year contract is the reason they didnt have money for Harden. He was literally just a fat body to watch up Pau and Bynum.

I want to know who the Bob Meyers audience is. I can't stand Perk or SAS but I get why they are on TV. Who is tuning in to get Meyers' thoughts.

I would much rather listen to the architect of one of the greatest teams in history, instead of a former player who was neither good or insightful, and is happy to say outlandish thinks for the sake of clicks.

Perkins offers informed and considered commentary about all aspects of basketball games. Rather than deride him for his presentation, you should put the phone down, raise the volume on your TV and listen. If you do this he will enhance your understanding of NBA basketball and make you realize how little you currently know.
