People seem to panic around here every off-season season, whether it be free agency, draft night, or trades, and in the end the Knicks' front office always come out knowing what they're doing.

Just because the PHX big three didn’t work out, doesn’t mean big 3’s can’t work out. In fact, most championships teams in history have had two top 15 players and then a third guy who is an all star or borderline all star (ie Bosh type like KAT).

Potentially teaming up Giannis, Brunson, and Towns, who are 28-30 year old All NBA guys, with Giannis being an MVP and champ, is obviously just like the ol’ Knicks.

No way we can get some solid role players to fill out the squad. This is the same as Marbury, ZBo, and Eddy Curry or Melo, KP, and DRose.

Just when they make smart one move they want to go ahead and make a stupid one right after

Again why the hell are we trying to get Jason Kidd? What has he done to show he’s a top coach in this league?

The problem with the Suns' "big 3" is none of them is a PG, and Beal is always injured.

2) Wright: No, can't have first time pro coach

4) Bryant: No, see above
5) Budenholzer: No, Giannis rumors too disruptive (unless you really are trading KAT)
6) Udoka: No, under contract
7) Kidd: No, under contract

Who does that leave?

Could it really be down to Jeff Van Gundy or John Callipari? NBA experience, big enough personal brand to withstand the pressure, no close ties to outside superstars to fuel disruptive rumors, not currently under contract with another team. I suppoose throw Mike Brown on that list, although I could honestly see the Lebron rumors starting very quickly.

Bryant is the play.

I agree that he's a great potential coach. I'm just skeptical they'd hire somebody for his first HC job. This is a HIGH pressure situation and I'm guessing they're going to choose an experienced HC who can withstand the pressure. For better or worse, Thibs' weird form of autism made him impervious to the media and fans. That kind of stability will be very hard to find, which is why I expect the candidate to have many years under his belt. This city now expects NBA Finals runs. Falling short of that would DESTROY a younger coach IMO.

Bryant is a well-seasoned NBA hand. If he's ready to be a head coach, then he's ready to be a head coach in NYC. He spent plenty of time here and is fully acclimated to the peaks and valleys of coaching in NYC. He knows most of the roster personally and he is one of the only choices that brings the needed philosophy of building systems around the talent you've got, not fitting square pegs into round holes like Thibs and many of the other rumored candidates.

Giannis brought a chip to the Bucks and resigned with them giving them a chance. There could be a gentleman's agreement between the Bucks and Giannis to allow him to go to a tema of his choice. Not to mention, the league is clear influencing these key moves-especially after
they signed all of these multi billion dollar network deals. Maybe that why they steered Indy into the finals. Just my opinion...

Wouldn’t this kill the Kidd rumors ? You wouldn’t hire a assistant if the head coach was leaving

Brunsons Aunt deleted those tweets. And now the Mavs nearing a deal with an assistant coach. Don’t think you hire an assistant and then let your head coach walk.

“Tinfoil Hat” unless you are promoting an assistant to head coach and hiring a new assistant to take his place… GEENYUS

Kidd was never the choice. The funny thing is this same thing happened before Leon hired Thibodeau and people are still falling for it now.

These "interviews" are similar to free agents going to dinners with multiple organizations, when they already know where they're going to sign. It's all theater.

The next head coach is going to be Johnnie Bryant.

Iffy on Kidd but this Front Office has gained so much equity with me that I'm willing to give it a SMALL chance. Kidd is a shiesty mofo.
