That would be great news for us, giannis staying east at least one more year and should push any of those teams looking to make a win now move back into the kd sweepstakes

Regardless of what the pundits are saying about Beal, the team has absolutely no power over him other than to sit him, which makes no sense and wastes a roster spot, or go the route of a waive and stretch ( if that's even possible - and it puts dead money on our books for a long time).

No one is going to take him. And he sure isn't likely to leave tens of millions on the table in a buyout.

One of my friends whose followed Beal and the Wiz in DC for a while said is that he could see Beal doing it for family purposes if he keeps being universally reviled in Phoenix by the fans/public.

As much as Beal being here sucks for basketball purposes, I hope it doesn't get to that point. It's not his or his family's fault the team traded for him knowing he had a NTC. Not to mention players family's shouldnt get hate/harassment anyway

Yeah. I get not liking a player for whatever reasons, but it should never get to a genuinely personal level and including their family in any kind of trash talking or harassment is completely unnecessary and out of line.

If this is true I think the Raptors could give us one of the best packages for KD.

First and foremost the #9 pick. I think this is the best pick that we can get in this year's draft.

Then...Brandon Ingram. He hasn't even played yet for them, so it would make sense to trade him for an upgrade at his position.

After these two pieces everything that we can get more (hopefully another pick + a decent role player as a filler) would be a plus.

Reading more about it and it seems that the Raptors probably would be interested in KD even without him signing an extension ala Khawi Leonard.

RJ Barret, Poeltl, #9 and a future FRP could be another trade package.

Poetl sucks? He is an above average starting C.

There aren't 15 Cs better than him and he is in his prime years. High basketball IQ, very good rim protector, good finisher.

Ingram and Barret would be ni/c-e additions, although Barrett is a Canadian guy who I believe would prefer staying there. I cannot see any other way for the Raptors to get KD than offering Ingram, as Poetl is their only centre and Barnes is their gem.
But Barnes and KD are ball dominant players, although the difference is that Barnes creates for the rest and KD just creates for himself, which has been the problem with him throughout his career.

If we get a package of Barrett and Ingram for KD, I believe that is fair. The Raptors traded for Ingram because they wanted to have assets to look for another trade, as Ingram and Barnes have a certain degree of similarities.

I like Ingram. Always have. A 6-9/6-10 forward who can really create and shoot. AS I mentioned with Wagner, Ingram would allow us to play both Booker and Beal together, provided one of them is willing to defend the opponent's PG.

The thing with this trade is that we would be stucked with similar players as Allen, Dunn and Barrett and one or two of them should be shipped somewhere.

Beal
Booker
Ingram
Allen/Oneale ---- > PF
Richards
---------------------------
Gillespie
Barrett
Dunn/Bol
Bol/PF
Valanciunas

If the PF we could get through an Allen+ONeale trade is good enough to add shooting and rebouding, then I believe we have much better options to be a better team. Then I think we could sign Valanciunas as our back-up centre, as he is a UFA.

The limitations with this roster is that Beal, Booker and Ingram all have a tendency to score through 2 point shooting. We need three point shooters.

Definitely going to be Vassell with either one keldon or Barnes, pick 14 as the main 3 pieces.

Hopefully we can at least squeeze a few more picks out of it if there really are all these teams interested.

Although I'm not sure what we are doing with beal, book, and vassell on the same roster

Agreed!
Although I'm pushing for Barnes (due to his expiring) over Johnson, who's really just a worse shooting version of Okogie on a large salary multi year deal that I don't want anyways.

I'd be pushing for a Vassell/ Barnes/ Sochan/ 14th pick/ 38th pick/ ATL 27' 1st. And then I'd look to trade Vassell to one of:

1- Brooklyn.
Vassell for Clowney/ 26th pick/ 36th picks.

2- Washington.
Vassell for Smart/ George/ 40th pick/ 26' 2nd (PHX).

3- Charlotte.
Vassell for Nurkic expiring/ Okogie expiring/ 33rd (CHO) and 34th picks (NOP) / MIA 27' 1st (Top 14 protected).

Yeah if we deal with the Spurs I'd definitely prefer Barnes over keldon as well, if we are moving off KD to rebuild around book we should be ensuring any veteran salary that's coming back is falling off when beals does

RJ/Ingram doesn't work salary match wise. Combined they make 11.1m more than KD and we can't aggregate salaries as a 2nd apron team.

The only way they can trade us Ingram and make the salary match work is including Agbaji (6.38m) plus either Gradey Dick (4.9m) or Jakobe Walter (3.6m).

The offer would most likely be what other posters have mentioned with it being based around RJ/Poetl (money matches well with KD and our desire for a center) and draft picks

A problem?? With that "problem" KD is one of the Top 15 players in the history of the game.

The Spurs trade for KD would probably be KD for Vassell, Barnes, Champagnie, 2025 #14 1st round pick, 2025 2nd rounder #38, 2026 2nd round pick, 2027 1st round pick. So we get 2 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks.

Y’all just stop with Beal playing a role on this squad. The front office doesn’t want him. He sits..he doesn’t even practice. That NTC and any resistance to a buy out will evaporate when he realizes he’s is going to lose 2 yrs from what little precious time he has left as an NBA-er. This need not be a pizzin contest either. It’s just a matter of fact Brad. The last thing we need is for him to come up lame…and we know that’s a given.

As far as a stretch goes… it’s doable and could be strategic. I know you procapspacers are already shopping… but half of that shopping list will resign, be extended and/or be signed and traded. Having tradable assets is as good or better than cap space. Furthermore, half the league will have just as much or more space. Other than weather, the desire to be in Phnx has been wasted by a dysfunctional owner. This shttt continues, by that time even Book will want to go.

The big picture says get under and stay under the second apron ….and may be under the first apron. You just can’t rebuild with those CBA restrictions.
What ? Me Worry ?

Ok I did not mean he literally sucks it's just that I don't see a huge upgrade over what we got now. I watched some Raptor games on league pass and yes he's good around the rim and a good finisher but he's not much better than Plumlee.

About Beal the front office likely hates his guts for messing up the Butler trade and costing us Durant. They will find a way to get his over paid ass off this roster.

Would be good if Ishbia doesn't shoot himself in the foot again while fixing the mistake of trading for Beal.

I'm not sure I care much for Barrett or Ingram. Poeltl is alright you could do worse. I know y'all are starved for athletic or physically talented guys under 30 but they ain't all that. You could also flip Poeltl for another pick but we know our FO ain't about that.

Id rather get more picks from the Spurs but if the Spurs aren't offering more picks I do like Barrett/Ingram more than Vassel and Keldon obviously.

But I'm guessing that Raptors talk is all bs because I don't know if KDs value is even that good. I think it's pretty low and we're just gonna have to suck it up with a mediocre return.

Return to Phoenix Suns
