He needs those low strike calls to be effective. It’s the job of the manager to be on the umpire in that regard. Unfortunately our manager almost never does that.

I know they gave him that ridiculous contract but there’s no way Chad Green is keeping a roster spot all season, right? His stuff is the worst on the team, the guy is cooked.

No Fluharty, Little or Yariel available today (and maybe not Hoffman either?) so it will be tough to hold the lead Springer just gave us.

Using Fluharty during a 9-1 lead on Thursday wasn’t a great decision by the manager.

Fisher needs to keep that bullpen spot when Yimi and Sandlin return.

Mehar wrote:Not enough can be said about how solid Fluharty, Little, and Rodriguez have been out of the bullpen. As much as I rip the clowns in the front office, they deserve praise for acquiring all three guys. With injuries to key guys like Garcia and Sandlin, all three of them have stepped up time after time. Nice to see Hoffman strike out three batters also in the 9th and get the Save. He had a terrible May, but hopefully he can have the Month of June that is identical to the one he had in April, where he was exceptional on the mound.

Little and Rodriguez I completely agree with you but I think Fluharty has been in the minors for way too long for the FO to deserve credit other than for drafting him. A draftee from 2022 who is one of the rare guys to make it from start to finish with this FO's terrible drafting record. As you said earlier, they had him below in the depth chart at season's start to Barnes and Lovelady.

They finally decided to use him and it's worked out.

I saw his #s from this and last season so why didn't the FO?

The answer is Yes. I never expected Heineman to hit the way as he has this year. No reason why either Kirk or Heineman can get more DH days when one of them is not Catching for the day.

Who in their right mind still think Hoffmann should be closing. He’s not even a top 3 reliever in this bullpen right now

Fisher is better than both Green and Swanson, but he has options and the other two make $13.5M combined. Unfortunately that's what it will come down to. Maybe the Jays can find a taker for Swanson's contract. It's only $3M, but he hasn't been good or healthy since 2023 so I can't imagine he is an asset.

Id rather he just hit as well. If we don’t trust him enough to bat, might as well move him out of the lineup for Straw

Clase is now 1 for his last 18, and has been in the lineup on a regular basis pretty much last 10 days. He has sucked at the plate, and makes no sense to have him out there playing everyday. Time for Straw and Roden to get more appearances in the lineup.
