Crazy you mention those things but yet most of those never caused the toxicity that the recent couple years had

Obi is a solid player who is stepping up big-time when it counts the most.

After that 1stq he had thibs would have banished him to shadow realm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But a good coach like Carlisle gave him a 2nd chance and was rewarded for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t doubt that Thibs would have done that if he had other options. But in 22-23 he did show us he’d go back to Obi when he didn’t have an option.

Game 5 vs CLE. Randle had a GREAT first half where he did what’s he supposed to do. Score w/in the flow of the offense, move the ball and bully ball when the opportunity was there. Then he sat out the 2nd half, Thibs put him in and Obi scored our first 7 pts in the quarter (10 total in the quarter) as we closed out CLE.

Game 5 vs MIA. Randle was choking big time in the first quarter (1-7, he played the entire quarter) Thibs made the substitution- Obi. Knicks got on a 18-5 run and end up winning that game.

It’s why I was against moving him for nothing. We just saw how important it was to have a back up who could come in and help get a W.

I thought of this in Game 1 against us. In the first quarter/half he was reallllllly struggling. I think he was like 1-4 or something and even missed the open dunk. Thibs would have never ever brought him back in this game. But Carlisle trusted him, and Obi had like 10 boards and 2 clutch dunks to help them get the W. things like that are the difference between a good and an average coach.
