It's not written clearly but I read it as other teams are interested in Trent, which would make that less likely.

I’m already assuming Trent is gone. He likely priced his way out of Milwaukee and selling him on a starting gig for less money isn’t gonna cut it. He wants his bag, he’ll end up in Brooklyn. NAW on the other hand? A starting spot on the wing for less money might be enticing and more realistic.

No one is giving Trent more than the MLE.

No one, including us, in which case I think he's going to take someone else's deal.

I think anyone who's interested in bringing in Poole is doing it with the expectation that Kuzma won't be here.

Anyone who's dead set against Poole didn't watch him play last year.

All that said, Dame is only getting traded to a team that wants to win now, and thinks he can make it back for next years playoffs. It won't be to the Wizards.

We can't legally be over the 1st apron if we do any of multiple things: use much of the MLE, BAE, TPE. So we have to stay below that threshold.

They want to stay under the tax. But maybe go up to around 8m over if Bobby opts-in. A couple more & they're paying 10* as much tax. Not worth it.

If Bobby opts out, they'll have to use the bulk of the MLE on a big one figures.

If Bobby opts in, that makes them threatened to pay high luxury tax again, if they use full MLE or near on 1 guy. At that pt you figure they split on multiple ones, use BAE, vet mins to fill out the roster. They have sufficient replacements for Trent at SG in Green, Rollins, maybe LeVert if cheaper.

I think Trent's only coming back if he loved to be here as much as Bobby did when he first came & took the ol' handshake deal.

Wow, didn't realize that my trade idea from the trade board would migrate over here. Thanks for the positive (and negative) feedback.

Also, from what I can gather, the trade could be expanded to include Pat Connaughton (assuming he opts in) so you guys save more money to use your exceptions to add players to compete next year (in essence...Poole+Smart for Dame+Connaughton).

For those that say Poole sucks, keep in mind that he was the ONLY offensive threat on a team full of young guys. He was much better in year 2 for the Wiz and has been, by all accounts, a great vet for the young guys. Poole can play for sure. Also, Smart was also surprisingly effective after the trade as he showed a solid 3-point jumper and his usual defensive chops. He'd help for sure on the defensive end. Smart has also been, by all accounts, a great vet for the young guys. Smart isn't done by any means if you watched his brief Wizards tenure.

I can't see any other team wanting Dame for next season hoping he comes back full in stride by the playoffs. Too risky for the money commitment and his age. With the Wizards tanking hard to ensure their first rounder doesn't convey to the Knicks (it is top 8 protected, otherwise it turns into a 2026 2nd and 2027 2nd), the Wiz might be the only team willing to trade for Dame as he'd help reach the salary floor.

Obviously the only reason the Wizards would do the trade was the pick swaps (swapping the lowest of the 2026 OKC/Hou/LAC 1st (which the Wiz own) with the lowest of NO/MIL 1st (after the Pels exercise their swap rights) and full swap rights of the Bucks 2031 1st to Washington)

If we had a better coach than Doc, I'd be open to that idea.

Accoding to BucksRealm on X, ownership is interested at bringing Trent back for 8-10 million per year....I think there's a strong likelyhood he stays if that's the case.

Doc's been our coach with Dame the last 2 seasons. Under Doc this yr, Dame's net rating w/ Giannis was 5+. KPJ's was 21+.
16-8/17-7 without Dame, 32-26 with him.

In the regular season, we're a better team w/out Dame, so long as Giannis is available for the vast majority of the season. In the postseason, Dame will be back, in some version, fwiw.

It says the Bucks want to bring him back (obviously), but it's dependent upon price. That 8-10m # even comes from Jim O's projections, not what the Bucks are willing to offer. He may well get more. Then I think the Bucks surely wouldn't bring him back. Even at that # it's borderline.

Bucks have Bobby's Bird Rights, he's not going anywhere.

We'll be hardcapped at the Apron when we use our MLE, and i think that number will be totally OK with ownership as far as the tax goes.

You're just increasing reasons they'd be apprehensive if they have to spend even more into the tax, while threatening the apron. If Bobby opts out, he'd have to strike out, to come back to the Bucks, on the same or less $.

That's not what the report says. And it's actually logical, because we can't be confident in contendership, while they'll be paying 20m more for 2m in salary going from 8-10m over the tax. The costs out-weigh the benefits many times over.

Poole doesn't suck but he also is basically just like a dumber, C list version of the guy he'd be replacing, who many believe didn't help the team in the first place.

That account is crap. He just guesses on ****. He has NO sources. Zero. He's the one who posted an old pic of Giannis in NY and said it was current. And then blocked everyone who called him out in it.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I’d inquire about Suggs. I think his value would be lower than someone like Trey Murphy, but also would be a phenomenal fit here.

Maybe Orlando sees him as expendable due to his injury issues and the emergence of Black.
