Memphis - Phoenix - Dallas

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Tue Jun 10, 2025 3:01 am

Memphis trade: Bane, Clarke, Konchar
Memphis receive: Beal, Marshall, worst of PHX/WAS/BRK 2028 1st, LAL 2029 1st, DAL 2031 1st

Phoenix trade: Beal, worst of PHX/WAS/BRK 2028 1st
Phoenix receive: Gafford, Klay, Clarke, Konchar

Dallas trade: Gafford, Klay, Marshall, LAL 2029 1st, DAL 2031 1st
Dallas receive: Bane

Why for Dallas: All in on the AD timeline
Why for Phoenix: Turns Beal into role players, including a starting C
Why for Memphis: get 3 1sts and a wing defender for Bane while staying competitive with Beal. Hopefully Beal is revitalized in new environment and if not they get payroll flexibility in couple years to retool. They have enough min salary contracts as depth that it should be manageable for next 2 years
Why for Beal: starting job on a playoff team

I'm prepared to be flamed by all 3 fanbases on this one...

I don’t know what Memphis is doing in this puzzle. Cut it and make the direct garbage exchange between Suns and Mavs. Bane’s name shouldn’t be even seen around those names in trade proposals. He has at least the 3 1sts positive value on his own, like Beal has the same negative value. I am not sure how to cover that gap.

It's going to take more than one 'worst of' 1st round pick to turn Beal into useful and cheaper players.

That seems like a whole lot for Dallas to give.
Those picks are potentially really good.
IDK maybe Bane is worth it.

I have Klay, Konchar and Clarke all negative value. Gafford is the only positive piece going back to phoenix so they owed 1 1st in OP.

Maybe mavs owe more? Wasnt sure on that one

True. But Konchar and Clarke are good teammates and quite playable role players, so Memphis is fine with them staying with the team. It might offer minor assets to incentivize buyers, but certainly not to throw in Bane. Again, the difference between Beal and Bane is huge, I don’t know which team would need to cover it here - PHX or DAL.

I could see the Grizz moving off Bane to shift salary to JJJ but this doesn’t do that. Dallas gets the best player and I think a very interesting and still underrated Bane pairs great with their core. As a Suns fan I’d call this in right now

Another Big for small trade without Dallas getting compensated. I. Mean, an old, injury pronned AD got a 25yo perrenial MVP canidate. Bane is not more valuable than Gafford. Certainly not adding a pick. Don't care about Klay.

Bane is of course more valuable than Gafford. And the Luka trade can't be undone.
