Hart Mikal and Mitch, 3 for AD. Love the idea of AD but we've done too many 2 for 1s recently which eats away at the depth. Who's going to fill those spots?

AD/KAT/Huk
KAT/AD/OG
OG/MLE (Simmons/Oubre/Trent Jr, Beasley- pick one)/ Dadiet or McCullar
MLE/McBride/ Wright
Brunson/ Wright/ Kolek

More healthy than Mitch who also has only 1 year left on deal. Bridges one year left on deal. Hart cant shoot and can be somehwat replaced by the MLE (Simmons, Beasley, Trent Jr, Oubre etc,) And almost all trades involve risk.

Two sides of the same **** coin. I rather keep Mitch then having Davis miss 3 months on a hang nail.

I would trade KAT to NOP for Murphy/Jones/McCollum and then flip Deuce, Tucker, Dadiet for DDV.

Mitch / Huk
OG / Jones
Mikal / Hart
Murphy / DDV
Brunson / McCollum

Defensive identity. Let OG/Mikal/Murphy be your interchangeable 2/3/4 scorers after Brunson as the main point of attack.

Dallas can spin it in the media like this right out of Windhorsts mouth too:

Once they got the #1 overall pick and also thinking about Kyries injury, Mavs thought best approach would be to rebuild while getting as much as they could for AD. This also went into their thinking with letting Jason Kidd go to the Knicks.

If Im trading KAT I want a dominant type of force back in the deal. A guy that can take over games or close to it when on and healthy. None of those guys really fit that bill. Some may argue McCollum but he doesnt have that type of gravity to me and is a poor fit backcourt alongside Brunson.

Dallas should go into rebuild mode by trading AD, Gafford, and whoever else they can while retaining their young core of Lively, Flagg, and Christie. Will they? Depends on Nico's ego... asset accumulation mode while developing the young kids into a future Boston Celtics type team.

AD in theory probably nets them a high pick in this years draft too. So you bring in Flagg and another guy you really like on the same timeline. The trade I threw out above gets them Houstons #10

It's gonna be a crazy off season for the NBA! The landscape will be wildly different. Some new teams will emerge in the East with upgrades. Should be fun.

Other teams need reasons to do trades. They won 21 games, have an unreliable star who cant stay healthy and Dejounte is out for the year in a very tough west. Pel's arent gonna be making moves to win now. Far more likely they sell Zion for whatever they can get and tank again, cause theyre gonna be one of the worst teams in their conference no matter what they do

Expand this to a 3 team deal where we get Jones or Murphy back with JJJ from Memphis and now you are cooking with Crisco baby.

I like JJJ as a target. Memphis might be ripe for big changes this offseason. Pel's arent doing any of these trades though

From the beginning of the offseason I felt JJJ should be our #1 target:

1. In the last year of his deal
2. He is CAA and apparently really close with Leon
3. Missed out on supermax which kills the financial advantage Memphis has to re-sign him
4. Is almost a perfect complement to KAT game in the front court.

If he hints he isnt going to extend with them, they will be very motivated to move him. Bridges is NOT CAA and would pair really nicely with Morant in that backcourt. He also 'only ' makes 23.4 in his last year which makes salary matching really easy.

JJJ is a pretty nice target.

How about:

1) KAT, Hart for KD, Dunn, Grayson Allen, future unprotected 1st

2) Mikal and the Phx 1st for JJJ

Mitch
JJJ
OG
KD
Brunson

Bench: Deuce, Dunn, Allen, Huk

Combining contracts under this CBA is just not going to be feasible for us given our contract situation. I think the best we can hope for is trading one of our rotation guys and an MLE signing. Bruce Brown makes a lot of sense - he’s a long time Knick target, right in that prime age along with the rest of our core, coming off an injury filled season, and a UFA with a team already into the tax so no contractual advantage for the incumbent team.
