This is about as good of news as you can get without him announcing out right on social media or something. Doesn’t guarantee it but I’m personally taking this and all the other news as confirmation and moving on to focusing on the roster. Like posters said above, I’m just enjoying at least one more year of Giannis and worry again next off season.

Well sure it "doesn't matter" for another 17 months but it removes the summer drama and the board can move on to critiquing the offseason moves (which will be plenty). And social media trolls can move on to something else. Yes a year from now we'll be going through the same thing but I'll appreciate the short term peace of mind.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Giannis also just posted a pic of himself on Insta holding a Bucks jersey up

There is a case for putting pressure on the FO but also with all the impending FA's, getting an early confirmation he'll likely stay will help a lot in retaining key players. I think, or would at least hope, that the FO already knows there is already intense pressure on them.

Giannis did an interview at the court he slipped on lol. Some interesting tidbits though...

Via Coast to Coast Brasil:

Reporter - “Giannis, have you been watching the finals? Any guesses on who will take the title?”

Giannis - “There are 2 great teams that got there, 2 great teams… Indiana, with my friend Pascal Siakam, is reaping the rewards, and on OKC’s side, the MVP is simply there. I'm rooting for good basketball. That's it. The Finals are different, I hope to be back soon with the Bucks.” - Giannis Antetokounmpo

**** you Shams! Stop listening to these idiots.

The idea that the front office hopefully feels the pressure and will make a big deal is a little comical. Short memories.

The front office just felt the pressure and traded KM and a first rounder for Kyle Kuzma. I have no faith in the front office to make the right move.

They have a recent obsession with getting more athletic (spurred on by some posters here :banghead: ) and it has resulted in several bad moves.

I'll feel better if he extends, and we won't know if he will do that for another year. And that sucks.

Life it short. It is what it is. Enjoy another year with Giannis and hopefully a remade roster.

Yep this is the answer

Unfortunately, I’m sure they’ll try again next offseason if we don’t win the title.

With Windy admitting that there is no trade market for Giannis, that about shuts the door for this offseason’s rumors, as far as I’m concerned. I’m sure if there was even a 1% chance, he’d be talking about it.

This won't stop them though, but I think its fair to say they don't know anything about Giannis and never have.

We know a lot based on his actions and comments over the last 12 years.

Is confirmation of non-news considered "news"? By today's standards, I suppose so.

Giannis probably got a voice mail from Jason Kidd and thought, "OK, enough of this ****."

More likely he was happy to have the chance to discredit Gery.

Man, some of you just WANT to be miserable. Enjoy the one stretch that we will ever have a superstar that connects with the fans, community and is a perennial MVP candidate.

Maybe this is the year they decide it’s his “turn” to win an MVP again.

I didn't wanna say anything cuz it isn't/wasn't something I knew 100% as a fact -- and I'm not exactly the best-known/most-credible member on this board

but even before lottery day, the story from someone who should absolutely know was "zero chance either giannis or doc leaves this summer"

sorry for being a bit of a d*ckhead here and over on the T&T board lol

I find it extra hilarious that none of these NBA rumor inventors, I mean, "reporters," seem to realize that every time they spout nonsense regarding Giannis's intentions, it only makes him even more committed/loyal to Milwaukee.

He's the hero Bucks fans deserve, but our decision-makers are incredibly lucky to have inherited him. Time to earn that extension, Horts.

I mean there will always be a part of me that misses being excited by drafting guys like David Noel and Jodie Meeks.

This is the exact spot we are in right now, our only shot to win a championship is to have a 2nd round pick turn into a rotation player.
