Maluach... younger, better physicals and production (TS and PER). He is very raw, needs a lot of work.

Re: Draft Poll: Maluach or Queen
Completely different prospects and it really depends on how your team is setup currently.
Maluach is more of a plug and play player. He's your ideal modern sized space eating rim protecting drop big C who takes a lot of high percentage shots around the basket, who doesn't need many touches.
Queen is ball dominant and you need to put the ball in his hands to get the most out of him. But he's a lot smaller and less capable defending NBA Cs so you'd need to play another big with him otherwise your defense will be a mess. Because of his lack of outside shooting, the other big next to him probably needs to be able to shoot it, otherwise your spacing will be a mess. So he's a trickier fit for more teams.
For the Raps current team, I like Maluach more. But I could see Queen performing well if he's in the right situation.

If I had to pick one though, I'd go with Queen. Maluach has limited offensive ability. I don't like drafting raw players this high. Queen is an underwhelming defender, but at least he has some offensive skills. Again though, I'd rather we look at other players. I don't like either of these player archetypes and I think they usually end up as low-impact players.
Ya, trade down for Yang or Markovic.

Maluach has more potential and has an All-NBA D path if things break right.
Queen looked great offensively last season, but I'm more skeptical of how special his offense can be at the next level to make him as enticing an option. I actually think he'll be really good, but I'm always swinging for the fences on potential in the lotto.

I feel like we're destined to take Maluach....if he's on the board I'll be surprised if Masai passes on him.

I think the last few drafts have shown that Masai's days of drafting long, unskilled prospects are behind him. Maluach is a high risk, low reward prospect IMO, and I don't see Masai biting on that at this point in the team's development.

Re: Draft Poll: Maluach or Queen
Queen as a bench scoring option who is a gravity big in the post and can playmake - he'd be huge for this team potentially (guy has a legit package of scoring moves right now). I think the kid is severely underrated because he's heavy and the optics on his athletic potential is bearish.
Put him the gym with Scottie and he'd be golden. (they're both Monteverde guys btw)

Haven't seen much yet from Koloko. Queen is more nba-ready
Feels like a lazy comp no?
Nah, both super raw players, with eye-popping physical attributes, poor underlying stats in college that will be 2 years away from being 2 years away.
What's different about them to you?

Nobody would say Koloko had eye popping physical stats. Malauch is considerably bigger.
Koloko (as much as I loved him) had stone hands and suspect finishing ability. Malauch has great hands and finishing ability.
That's why one is a top 10 pick and the other was an early 2nd rounder.

Maluach doesn't have great hands, and in the opposite, one of his weakness being called out is his hands, which was reported on multiple scouting videos / reports.

Offensively, there are more questions, largely about his hands and overall feel for the game.

A pro scout told HoopsHype: Maluach is raw but huge and super athletic. Hands aren’t great, though.

That's debatable. I've seen several scouting videos and articles that say his hands are one of his strengths.
Either way, they are light years better than Koloko.

The stat people overlooking is Sorbers steals per game. Seven footers with 7’6 wingspans don’t get 1.5 steals a game
He is going to surprise a lot of people

I really hate both so I'm abstaining from voting.
Think Malauch has more potential I guess, but is further from realizing it.

I feel like Sorber might actually be top of list at Center for Raptors.

Re: Draft Poll: Maluach or Queen
Queen for me and it’s not close. I think Queen might have the strongest “feel for the game” in this draft—and the league is favouring guys who just know how to play. His defense is definitely questionable, but I think the gains he gives you offensively offset his potential defensive deficiencies.
On the flip side, I’m not sold on Maluach at all. I don’t see a sure-fire defensive anchor and, quite frankly, his floor is very low in my eyes. I watched a lot of Duke this year and I did not come away impressed with Maluach.

Props to Brunoskull for the sig.
