Will be interesting to see. He wasn't this season and Gradey has a chance to improve as well.

Gradey has 0 pathway to being a starter until he learns how not to be a bottom 50 defender in the league.

That's certainly fair. He needs to bulk up some, learn how to hit lightly-contested shots and work hard on his D, no doubt.

He shot better than GD once the calendar year turned. Almost all of the Raps best line ups included Jakobe.

The starting 5 just really needs someone with his skillset. POA defence and low usage points creation.

Gradey has a lot to show on defence if he wants to beat out Jakobe in minutes.

love seeing that kind of improvement from a rookie who started the year injured

Completely shocked that he was able to scale down to a modern day 3&D role. His shot profile in college was a pure chucker lol.

He’s a dog, I hope he continues to progress.

Sure... but he played 34 games in calendar 2025, so I won't really care about that until he shows that over a real sample. And even then, the distance wasn't huge. He shot under 40%. Gradey played 27 games in that span, was taking nearly 60% more 3PA/g over that same time frame, a different minutes load...

It's a bit sloppy to compare them directly over that time, because they were not used the same way at all.

Sure but regardless, the numbers bear out that our team is better with Jakobe on the floor. We can’t say that for any other young player on the roster.

That puts him at an advantage over GD.

Over a short sample. It's possible that will continue and is worth exploring, but it means only so much to me right now.

That’s fair but I feel like the eye test matches up with the advanced data.

Similar caliber catch and shoot player, one just plays significantly better defence. I hope GD works on his body to provide better defence because he’s a significantly more dynamic shot maker over Jakobe.

I hear you, I'm just gonna wait and see, particularly since Gradey may also improve, or at least operate better with a superior environment.
