Wishfull thinking. Lol. I don't think we will contend the next couple of years, so don't do anything rash. Plenty of cash could be had in a couple of years.

We definitely want Pat to opt in, his contract is super valuable and whatever team he goes too he won't complain.

Disagree, cuz for us, we need the space under the 1st apron & tax to fill out our roster. 9+ million on a 3+ million guy is an impediment.

Bobby opting in I'm more ambivalent on. I lean toward preferring he not for similar reasons & wanting other big options w/ the MLE. But if he opts in, it provides us security, increases chances of retaining Trent if the price is right, & he's a trade candidate w/ the '31 1st for a good starter.

Draft is in 15 days, FA negotiations begin in 21 days, signings can start in 26 days. SLC Summer League is in 25 days. And the season is still ongoing. It's crazy how fast the offseason goes. In the NFL the draft is 3.5 months after the season ends.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I forgot that we drafted KPJ. And immediately traded him with Snell for Jon Leuer.

Trade 1
Kuzma + ‘31 1st for Cam Johnson

Trade 2
Pat for Okoro + Wade (technically two trades to utilize the TPE)

Cut Livingston and Dre

Buy a 2nd with cash

Re-sign KPJ, Rollins, Sims and Trent for a combined 18m

Sign 1 min (Nance, Jones, etc)

KPJ/Rollins/Dame
Dairy/GTJ/2nd
Cam/Okoro/2nd
Giannis/Wade/Smith
Bobby/Nance/Sims

I have that roster at 195m just a hair under the apron.

I don't think they do this. And I just realized he hasn't played over 60 games in 3 years. I just really don't want to move off our 31st.

Side note: I just remembered that T Wolves traded Cam and Saric for Jarrett Culver lol. T Wolves have made some real stinker trades in history.

not bad but the 31 1st needs to be for more than just cam if its the most coveted pick on the market

i think if it can be used to dump dame and get back playable guys on even equity contracts thats a great first target goal. 50 million in guys on "fair deals" i dont even care who they are

25 year constant reader and posted more in the Ray Allen days but from what I’ve read recently:

1) Get Michael Porter Jr for Pat C and Kuzma if possible

2) Keep Lillard and see where we sit come late April

3) Resign KPJ and GTJ whether starting spots or future handshake deals need to be made. Haslem being the way he is should be able to get that done.

4). Figure out a way to get something for Brook leaving. Get something in a sign and trade though.

5). Bobby opts in hopefully,

This team can compete. Guessing top six in the east and we can see if instead of getting bad luck or unlucky or bad breaks, maybe things fall our way..

Bobby to stay? Is he our starting 5 then with the rumors that Brook is leaving?

Presumably Bobby starts at the five and then you keep Sims and focus the Sims minutes when Giannis is off the floor for spacing reasons and to always have an actual rim protector out there since Bobby is one of the worst rim protectors his size.

Bobby also helps during the regular season because you can shift him down to the four spot and he can give you some of Giannis’ rebounding and scoring. That’s lowkey been his best skill for years.

With all the recent buzz about Brook, it seems like we’re fine with letting him walk? If that’s the case, I wish we would’ve just shopped him this last deadline so we could recoup some value.

I have a hard time believing our center rotation (if both are coming back) will only be Bobby and Sims.

I could see Bobby starting but leaving Sims as the lone backup 5 is strange.

My theory for awhile has been that we have Larry Nance Jr. coming in on a cheap one year deal. That way we can have two sets of brothers on next year’s team 8-)

This hopefully allows for a Dame/MPJ/Giannis stab at it next playoffs, then you have 2 1st round picks and massive amounts of expiring salary to dangle on the market next summer.

Giannis will be the main player manning the five spot at this point in his career, especially after Brook departs this off season.

If Brook would take a 2 year Horford deal great. If he wants more money and/or more than 2 years you have to let him go.

I think so too.

You basically have Sims covering the 5 with Giannis off and very little overlap.

Bobby probably starts at the 4 now and thats fine.

I dont think we can afford to pay Brook even that much. At this point, Trent is arguably a more important player and if we want to pay him more than the minimum it becomes very tough with Brook making 9.5.

Actually, i stand corrected a little. If you can pay Brook 7 per, that allows you to basically fill a 14 man roster while splitting the full MLE between Trent and KPJ and also using the BAE on a FA. That assumes Bobby makes 14 and Sims re signs for around the minimum with Rollins making 3.5.

So those are the parameters. If you think Rollins makes more, then you have to take it from one of those guys or just not use the whole BAE. Same for Sims or whoever

Playing through a not great shoulder injury would probably indicate he's the opposite.

Guess I'd rather take Collins than MPJ. MPJ is one slipped disc away from catastrophe. Collins don't excite me (o Chones you cad) but you know what you're getting: high teen in points, near double digit rebounds and cornball antics. Baggers can't be boozers.
