It's not like the Brewers necessarily need to make a move at pitcher, and you could make the case that if they do then it should just be Henderson getting the call, but after Peralta, Patrick, and Quintana I don't think any of their 4/5 guys have been great.

I mean they basically admitted if Woodruff made it back that Patrick was going to be the one going to the minors. So if Mis gets the call it seems likely he'd be the one who would go down.

Making terrible decisions is sort of their thing so I wouldn’t be surprised.

I mean is it? The Brewers have been arguably the best run small market team in the last decade. Neither Patrick or Priester have warranted going down to AAA. I think it's Civale trade or bust for Mis. And even then Henderson might come up first

They've been **** up for a while. Bad trade returns, dumb signings, guys playing out of position, Murph's pitching decisions, terrible base running.

Murphy's Bullpen usage and pinch running decisions I'll agree with. I still think the Front office has been mostly excellent though. At this point they've won the Devin trade handidly, and are on track to easily win the Burnes trade. Priester has been good so far so that trade doesn't look too bad either.

The Devin and Burnes deals only look good because Burnes left Baltimore and Devin's been brutal. But for a Cy Young winner who got $200 million and a two time reliever of the year I don't think you can argue that the returns for both were light. As for Priester, he's got 4.58 FIP and has accumulated .1 fWAR, 14th on the staff. I don't think he's been good at all. Meanwhile Shane Smith has a 3.5 FIP and 1.3 fWAR.

Burnes leaving after a year was always the likely outcome though and exactly why the Brewers traded him, same with Devin. In general MLB teams as a whole have gotten a lot smarter about giving up huge returns for 1 year rentals but the Brewers are still going to come away from those trades as big winners. It's true that Priester is outperforming his FIP, but that's practically true of every Brewers starter this season, they are good at doing that exact thing. Letting Shane Smith go was a mistake, no disagreement there.

Priester is pitching tonight, Patrick tomorrow. If I had to guess they might send Patrick down based on how they were planning to handle to Woodruff callup. Quintana was originally scheduled for Thursday so we'll see.

His last few outings he's pitched 5, 2, 4 and 3 innings.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Brewers 2025 Discussion - Misiorowski Called Up

Interesting note here. Maybe means something, maybe means nothing.

It wasn’t immediately clear who would be displaced by Misiorowski’s arrival to a group that currently includes Freddy Peralta, Aaron Civale, Jose Quintana, Quinn Priester and rookie Chad Patrick. Civale, who has averaged 4 2/3 innings in four starts since a stint on the injured list, took the loss on Monday against Atlanta and had a meeting with Murphy on Tuesday after news broke of Misiorowski’s pending promotion.

If can recoup a top 30-40 prospect for Civale, pretty much a wash isn’t it? Looks like the guy they traded is now at AA with meh numbers.

A Civale trade makes a ton of sense. He's not a bad pitcher but he's clearly the worst and least exciting of their current options

Civale is the odd man out. FA after the season, he won't be back anyway. I love SP depth but I think we're good without him. Knock on wood with Woody contributing anything.

Yea, I have to think there would be a market for Civale, if it's just a low-A lottery ticket, which would be fine with me.

Interesting. Long reliever until traded I assume. Do we still have to send someone down for Miz or did I miss something? Maybe Yeli heading to IL, half kidding.

Murphy said Civale is not happy about the move to the bullpen. Guessing they’re trying hard to move him behind the scenes.

Probably Patrick. He pitches today and will be on the shelf for awhile. Maybe rest his arm for a week or two and see how things shake out with Woody returning. He's pitched 69 innings plus today, last season he pitched 136
