Yes, and only Jordan fans claim otherwise. They were stacked player wise and from a coaching staff standpoint.

“super teams” are when stars collude to play with each other via FA or force trade to certain teams.
So if Durant, Westbrook, Harden & Ibaka would have stayed together in OKC it wouldn't be a super team because they were all drafted?

vxmike defines superteam as having nothing to do with the talent level or ability of a team, nor can he say superteams losing to teams with more talent grown organically is a negative to the superteams.

I'm gonna say no. Rodman was in his mid-30s and past his prime when he joined Chicago. And dude was a shell of his former self in 1998.

This is why I prefer the term “mercenary team.” It seems to distinguish between the 2 definitions of super teams people argue about (talent level vs how that talent was acquired).

The 1st three peat Bulls absolutely not but the 2nd 3 peat absolutely were in comparison to the rest of the league (as opposed to like the KD warriors).

Of course they were. They replaced Jordan with the utterly mediocre Petr Myers and still won 55 games and almost made the East finals. And they were even stronger in the first two years of the second threepeat.

A superteam starting Ron Harper and Luc Longley? Stop it.

The 2011 Heat, commonly called a Superteam, started Carlos Arroyo and Zydrunas Ilgauskas/Joel Anthony/Erick Dampier.
What is your definition of a superteam?

A team that wins it all for starters.

What is your definition? The 1996 Bulls weren't a super team. The 2011 Heat weren't a superteam. The 2021 Brooklyn Nets weren't a super team.
I am just trying to find out how you define the term. If you read my previous posts in this thread, I stated very clearly what my definition is.

Guys like him use the definition flexibly. It's typically just a team that has a player that upsets them.

Any team that can win 50+ without a GOAT level player is a superteam

Were the pre-KD Warriors a super team?
Curry, Thompson, Green is roughly analogous to Jordan, Pippen, Rodman.

When you factor in how much less talent there was in the 90s, they clearly would be.

- Russell’s Celtics
- Some of those Bird/Magic teams
- 12’ & 13’ Heat
- Warriors with KD
I thought the Celtics were close to having an argument when Derrick White or Al Horford was your 6th best player but they flamed out ultimately.

Re: Do you consider Jordans Bulls a Super Team?
the traditional definition for a superteam has always been a team with 3 or more superstars, its why the Kobe/Shaq 3-peat Lakers were never considered a super team but the Kobe/Shaq/Malone/Payton Lakers were. It's why the Kobe/Gasol 2-peat Lakers were never considered a super team but the Kobe/Nash/Dwight Lakers were. Of course everyone is going to have their own definition which makes this question pointless to ask.
