Wow, looks like FX/Hulu/Disney gave them the Shogun budget to work with. I'm so excited.

Okay this is a very cool fun fact: my friend was known around our college campus as an Adam Sandler lookalike, and then in one of Sandler's Netflix movies, Sandler played a character named Max Kessler which happened to be my friend's name. We made a stupid post on Reddit about it and it went viral; Sandler invited my friend to the premiere of the movie, and now years later, my friend is playing Young Happy Gilmore in the movie. He thinks he's like literally going to be the first person you see in the movie and he's so excited.

Edit: The referenced Reddit post from 9 years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/4fu5m3/the_name_of_adam_sandlers_character_in_his_new/

And post from when he got to go to the movie premiere: https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/4jrir3/adam_sandler_flew_me_out_to_the_premier_of_the/

It's amazing how every time you tell this story there's a new tag on it. In a year you're going to be telling us Sandler has legally adopted him.

I can only hope. I just need to cling to this friendship long enough to get invited to a pickup basketball game with Sandler

Yea I'm like 7-8 in and I just said the same thing to myself, way better than season 1 which to me was just meh/fine to me. Seems a bit more planning/structure this time while keeping the dirty wisecracks and aburdity

Yeah last season really just seemed like one long pilot episode. This season felt like a real show.

I can't remember which actor/actress it was but they were doing an interview and basically said that once they got their big breakout role, that there's like a 6-8 month window between when you're getting every script sent your way and when the industry quickly forgets about you and you have to read/audition for everything again. It's why I don't blame any of these dudes for seemingly being in every movie/show in any particular year. You really gotta capitalize on the exposure and get that paycheck so that you can have any career longevity and eventually pick/choose the projects that you actually wanna do.

Yeah, I think it’s particularly bad for women. Just crazy how quickly the industry cycles through people.

Spoiler:
Welliver said they had the plot worked out for another season but Amazon pulled the plug citing "budgetary reasons". So this season didn't have any permanent closure.

There are 6 Renee Ballard books and there are tentative plans to go forward with a Ballard series. She appears in one Lincoln Lawyer book so maybe there is a crossover there.

Welliver said they were looking at Bosch rejoining the force so maybe that happens and he's in a reduced role in the new series.

It deserved a better finish. Hopefully they do sort out a way to bring him back in the new show as much as possible.

I just saw that Welliver was supposed to be doing an Equalizer spinoff this fall but CBS decided not to do it. So maybe that frees him up for more Bosch. I believe Amazon has the rights, if they decide not to do more Bosch it can't be done anywhere else.

Looks pretty good.

I'll definitely watch. Too bad Bosch is only in one episode but I guess that's the whole point of a spinoff, new characters.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I never watched Mad Men but I like Jon Hamm so I watched the first episode tonight. I thought it was ok. Is it worth watching all the way through?

Yes. But I'm biased because I think it's the best.

Mad Men is one of the best shows ever made. I'd say it really gets rolling like halfway through Season 2, though.
