Please explain.

This is brilliant misdirection. By desperately trying to hire other teams top coaches first and not getting them, it’ll show the world how much we really liked our 8th choice the most lol

I dont know what it is thats the point. But doesn't hurt to speculate. I dam sure now that - Leon with his resume has a plan

Its not over but it definitely is swayed odds wise.

But....that kind of stuff absolutely can be part of the negotiation process

So yes THAT report definitely sways it. However they ABSOLUTELY could still be negotiating and Dallas is playing hard ball.Esp with the bad blood between both teams.

Kidd could also be really pushing to come here

And wouldn't have went public with his request to be interested in leaving which was clearly reported by mult sources. In fact with Brooklyn they played a bit of hardball too before settling on 2 2nd round picks to trade KIDD to Bucks in 2011 0r 2014

Also Finals going on right now..so they want focus on thwt with the ratings down 30%

They may want Kidd have to make a really big deal publicly and make him look like the bad guy before they give him up too. All PR games.

I don't think anyone said that. It's been known for days now that the Knicks have reached out to see if any of these guys are available.

I'm saying the local media is concern trolling. Shams isn't local media.

Now do I agree with doing this? Not really. I don't like Jason Kidd, and I'd rather they give Bryant a chance.

Again the traditional media is catching up to BKE

The FO had to know this was going to happen (denial) so they must think Kidd hasn't made a decision. The only way you can think otherwise if you of the believe that Dolan fired thibs the whole FO wasn't aligned and they are scrambling.

I personally think that is a reach but people are entitled to there own opinions.

The Dolan firing Thibs thing against everyone's wishes really doesn't carry water for me.

Do we really think Dolan has all of a sudden developed nuanced feelings about 5 out lineups or double big configurations? So much so that he's intervened for the first time since he hired Phil Jackson?

The man just made more playoff revenue this season than he has in a quarter century and he was handing out basketballs to children after every game like he was the mayor.

Yes we're so desperate being the only team with an NBA HC opening, coming off a Conference Finals run, and with a roster that is in its prime.

We quite literally have our pick of the litter.

You guys are ridiculous man

The only guys they want are guys already under contract with other teams and we already got rejected. That’s desperate. Yeah we will settle for someone eventually, woohoo

I think that would constitute a full and potentially costly tampering investigation.

i mean is that really a reason not to do it? Im just playing devils advocat. i understand its bad rep, causes a hefty fine and is bad practice. Im just wondering if they would be really that cutthroat lol

And i assume we would have to buy him out aswell or something. im not familliar with coaches salaries. if they get fired, they still get paid from what i understand. but i have no clue what happens if coaches step down.

Hey they 8th choice still might be a better option than thibs :dontknow:

Yeah, I think people are looking at this the wrong way. They must have really thought Thibs wasn't the guy.

Yep. They were also asking for interviews, not hires. Thibs was basically hired after a long process and that worked, too.

I also remember one of the times when the team locked into their guy for a long time and even tried to trade assets to get him. That guy now plays on the Pacers after we traded him for 2 2nd rounders. I'd rather the Knicks do their due diligence.

agreed. im a bit dissapointed how it all turned out so far. i have a hard time believing that this was the plan. Getting udoka, finch or kidd who are all successfull in their siutation? seems very naive.

but who knows.. this all could also be just a smokescreen. Leon has always operated in almost complete silence and possibly someone like bryant was his plan all along.

The players literally told him and Leon that it wasn't working. Wes apparently wanted him gone awhile ago. Allegedly Leon and Tom weren't on speaking terms.

I dunno why this is some kinda conspiracy. People really think Dolan wanted to set 30m on fire for kicks and giggles?

This FO interviewed upwards of 15 candidates last time they hired a coach but sure... the only guys they are truly interested in are guys who are employed. And anyone else who gets reported after that was their 8th or 9th choice...

There's no sort of procedural issue that could cause this kind of timeline. None whatsoever

People think it was Dolan that told Thibodeau to start Mitchell in Game 3 of the ECF, and to give Shamet and Wright minutes off the bench.

im not understanding the over reaction to the knicks asking if they can interview the best coaches in the league. Now if it comes out that we requested an interview with Doc Rivers Ill start being concerned, until then this is all due process and they are turning over every stone on the biggest decision this franchise has had in a long time
