Hopefully they get creative with a college coach or someone like that.

I saw this man start Fox/Monk together in the backcourt with Derozan and and Sabonis in the front court and say **** defense when he could have started Keon Ellis who actually defends next to Fox.

He doesn't care about defense what so ever.

Thats what got him fired.

To be fair that team didn't have much of a chance to defend with that kind of personnel. That would be much more of a FO issue to me.

I bet he figured I might as well try to score as much as we can and hope to get enough stops to win. It kind of worked the previous few seasons but adding Derozan to that mix was a nail in the coffin IMO.

Everything kind of went to chit after he left too.

He wouldn't be my choice but I bet he'd have as good of a shot as anyone else at maximizing Brunson/KAT at least offensively.

You guys make chit up in your head and treat it as fact because you're impatient after less than a week of having no coach

Yeah because it totally makes sense to go after guys you don’t really want first just for the fun of it because the guy you really want you know you can get already. But even though he’s the guy you want you still rather try to talk to coaches already under contract. Because that all makes sense, sure

Generally at your place of employment when hiring from outside of the organization do they talk to only one person?

When you go over to the competitor to ask to speak to their employee about possibly jumping ship, that means you aren’t confident in the unemployed options. And there’s a reason you went to those certain individuals specifically because there are a bunch of other candidates you can talk to but you started there for a reason.

Like I said they will hire someone eventually, they have to. But there’s a difference between getting who you want and settling for what you can get

This is what firing Thibs got us. Turned down by every coach under contract and now having to settle for Mike brown.

So we gonna risk it with a rookie coach. He better win 50 games

To be fair, the "he better win 50 games" would be applicable to any coach we hire.

Forget 50 wins. He better make it to at least the conference finals.

The strange thing about memebers in the media saying no to Bryant is it's as if assistants don't exist.

Do they not realize Bryant could be head coach and be surrounded by veteran head coaches to be his associate and assistants?

There’s all these smart assistants who people know of that they could be talking to. It’s obviously not the direction since we haven’t heard about one.

THey were never going to be great defensively but I just easily pointed out one change that would have really helped.

When Doug Christie took over Keon Ellis started to start a good amount of games and they started to play better. Getting a POA defender in the game that can play off ball and shoot was exactly what they needed and could have simply moved Monk back into that 6th man role.

From the jump everyone assumed it was going to be Bryant and since everyone is now saying it won't be Bryant that means Rose is in the perfect position to surprise everyone in hiring Br....own.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

oh I agree that is why I said college because they have experience...because for whatever reason they don't seem interested in the top assitant coach search. At least right now prior HC experience seems like a must but I do think that rules out a lot of good candidates. I am a fan of Bryant and there are a couple others.

We have no clue what they’re doing. That’s why I don’t understand the freak outs or prematurely collecting wins like we failed after firing Thibs.

For all we know they could be doing something outside the box… maybe they’re considering the option of someone like Bryant at the helm and interviewing vet coaches to put around him. There’s so many possibilities…

It's been like a week.

Our season just ended. Coach was just let go ... We Have the entire offseason...

there's no rush to hire a new coach...it's not like the Knicks play tomorrow.

Honestly i don’t fully blame them. If you think you could win a championship it’s a risk to hire someone with no experience. But you should have had someone you could claim as a lateral move at least lined up before you fired your coach.

It's always panic at the disco with Knicks fans. If anyone has earned the right to take his sweet time, it's Leon.

Take some chill pills, folks!
