Played the postseason on a torn meniscus. Glad he's getting it taken care of.
Gonna miss KP but he's no Georges Niang.

Tank season for the Celtics and get back to being title contenders after the season. Good plan.

I dont know why Celtics have not offered him to Mavs for Flagg. It makes too much sense for both teams.

Why would Dallas trade Flagg for a 29 year-old with consistent health issues and who doesn't have the same kind of upside?

That makes literally NO sense.

Because the Mavs are in win-now mode with AD and Kyrie, and adding Brown would make them the favorites for next season.

So, no it wouldn't, first of all.

Second of all, trading for a dude who is almost 30 and constantly injured by sending away a prospect like Flagg is insanity, at best.

I think you mean trading Flagg for JB is the best insanity.*

By "next season," are you referring to 2026-2027? As neither Kyrie nor Brown will be ready for the start of next season (2025-2026), they'd not be "favorites" for anything beyond another lottery pick.

I wasn’t sure if you were serious or not because that’s what the Mavs just did, lol. I agree with you. It makes no sense, but they just traded a player with a higher ceiling for a player who is even more injury prone and older, lol.

The Mavs clearly do not do things that make sense already. Even they must not be crazy enough for that, though. I would argue trading Luka for AD is worse than trading Flagg for Brown. Literally one of the worst if not the worst trades of all time.

The article says Brown will be ready for training camp in October.

No it would not. Irving is not even guaranteed when returns to play.

If you have the consensus #1 draft pick at 19 years old you gotta flip him for an injured 29 year old to add to your collection of injured and injury prone mid career stars.

Do it, Nico 8-)
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

Heh, I mean for Boston, that'd be a masterclass in exploiting a GM no one respects anymore, right?

They did, but there were other factors there. It's very likely that happened from ownership pressure more than anything else, and there was a protracted relationship with Luka which had clearly soured. And it was still a stupid trade, widely-panned and with massive backlash for the franchise. It was a terrible trade. AD is good when he is heathy, REALLY good, but he had a healthy season in 2024, and now it's back to business as usual. My guy has played 70+ once since 2018 and he isn't getting any younger. That trade was so stupid, the Gibbs smack which followed could have been heard in China.

And even if they did it once, I'd be shocked to see them do it AGAIN, so soon after the HORRIBLE response to that dumbassery. Know what I mean?

Smart smart smart move by Celts. Get your players rehabbed and well. Tank this year, maybe tank next year. Get high draft picks. Maybe trade off the supporting cast for younger players. Then come back with 1-2 high end young players + Jaylen Brown and Tatum.

Take notes team, cough Suns/kings/Bucks/ Hell Raptors Cough.

Why would the Celtics do this? Nico would have to add something to sweeten the deal. Stevens isn't a muppet like Pelinka. You can't rip him off.
