He's got tools, but I think his draft upside is like the 45-50 range. Would be a decent two-way player.

That's kind of where I get stuck with some of this stuff at times, like if he's got good tools and he's a legit 7 ft 260 type of guy, and we need that, is 31 really that different? I think the biggest issue is that he's 24 or soon to be which I'm guessing limits a little bit of his ceiling.

I wonder if MIN should draft CMB if he falls out of lottery

He has to more than fall out of lottery. He could fall out of lottery and go 15 or 16. I could easily see that happen.

Like the talent, I just really question the fit.

MN is good on wings, we need PG or bigs (PF/C).

I agree with you, but CMB might be too much talent to pass on. I don't think he will be available.

If they think he is that good then, pretty much like all draft picks, we wait and see. Depending who was available at the time, I really wouldn't care.

At 6'7? C'mon now. I barely consider Randle one at barely "6'9"

From a height/weight/wingspan aspect, he's pretty much exactly Draymond Green.

So you consider Draymond Green a wing?!?!

Like there's not exceptions at every position. Ben Wallace was what 6 ft 8? And absolutely dominated at center. So yeah, you can find undersized guys at lots of positions. I'd like a power forward to be at least a legit 6 ft 10, course I like my centers to be at least a legit 7 ft also. That doesn't mean someone who is 6'11 can't play center. That also doesn't mean I'd consider them a big. I'd consider them an undersized player who can play a post or a big man position.

Murray-Boyles has bust written all over him, hopefully the Thunder take him.

Dray is an anomaly.

Talk about out of left field. What possibly leads you to this belief?

As a Gamecocks fan I saw him a bit and know two things: he's a big and Clemson sucks. Good motor, but I'd pass on him at 17.

My current predictions if we keep #17 and #31 are (in order of my personal preference):

#17 one of Sorber, Clifford, Coward, or Traore
#31 one of Penda, Powell, Raynaud, or Kalkbrenner

I think it's highly likely at least one of the options at each pick will be available, with a decent chance of 2-3 still being on the board.

According to Wolfson the Wolves will be hosting a workout today with Asa Newell (Georgia), Jamir Watkins (Florida St.), Keshon Gilbert (Iowa St.), Steve Crowl (Wisconsin).

Crowl and Gilbert are more training bodies/Summer League fillers. Watkins is interesting; another guard/wing to add to our logjam, but a good defender and downhill attacker that gets to the rim and FT line consistently.

Newell is the only 1st rounder in the group and I'd avoid. He's just not good enough at any particular skill to be worth it. Reminds me a bit of Leonard Miller.

I like the energy Newell plays with, but he looks like a tweener. Not quite big enough to be a full time 5, imo.
