not necessarily. the only thing somewhat clear is they wanted permission to talk to him. just like some other coaches currently in roles that we have similar reports on (udoka, finch).

Say that he's a massive troll and they aren't sure what to believe with him.

They think he's going to a veteran team and may prefer warm weather in his next locale.

 They are still holding out hope that’s why you see the same story of them not rushing it and feeling that the rejection now doesn’t mean it’s over. They want Kidd and rushed to interview him but got rejected and now need to play it off like they are casting a wide net and have time

They previously said not KAT.

Deuce is probably on the list based on his public comments

At first glance this makes sense but they also asked permission to speak to Udoka and Finch. Were they trying to hire them, too? I don’t think it’s clear cut.

Letting him talk to us is letting him go. You don’t get to interview for another head coaching job and then come back to coach the team you were willing to leave.

I don’t think Griffin had nearly as big a role or voice..

head assistant on raptors when they won chip and coty and was with thibs when he won coty with bulls.

Ok, but again it’s a false equivalency. Bryant has a well known rep for player development, is a pretty big voice on the sidelines, and has only been in the associate head coach role a few years.

1st year with Thibs in 2021 COTY, to 1st year with Atkinson in 2025 COTY is different than Griffin who’s been assistant coaching in the league for damn near 20 years.

Mavs got a draft to focus on and a big offseason. They aren’t going to be waiting around to find out if Kidd is still their coach or not. If Knicks were granted permission they would have to decide on Kidd quick

make the poll. thibs vs mike brown. as much as they complained about thibs, he aint losing to mike brown.

Thibs would lose to Osama Bin Laden and Hitler on this board. :nonono:

In fairness, both of those guys more stubborn than Thibs.

I mean, Hilter shouldn't have gotten into a two front war but he wouldn't listen to his assistant generals.

Bid Laden couldn't resist going all in.

Did you just get back from the protests in LA? I know you were hoping they'd be a lot more violent so you could try out your new Molotov cocktail recipe. I heard 2012 Guan0 could throw a brick at least 45 yards with a tight spiral :o

He definitely got the green light to clear up some rumors. Johnnie having fans in the FO is also interesting seeing that they were saying if the Knicks wanted him, he'll be hired by now. Sheesh it's been a week.

Oooooooooweeeeeeeeee!

I missed the part where mikal got thibs fired........ so if we get a worse coach than thibs and the season implodes we get to blame mikal and mp.

This looks like a win/win to me!

The Mikal trade was bad but we didn’t know how bad at the time.

Yikes!

Mikal is my least favorite player on this team ngl.

He might be a snake. Don’t be surprised if he also complained about Rick Brunson being on the coaching staff. Something about him is just so off and I don’t like him either. Not just his game which is soft but I think his personality is shady af

He also brought Nets fans onto the board, so his villainy appears to be boundless.

Good. Trade him to the Grizzlies for JJJ. Or the Jazz. Trade him to teams with phony names for their location, since Mikal is clearly a corny phony.
