Boston - SAS - Toronto - Brooklyn
Shamelessly expanding/borrowing Reggiesknicks' idea again
Brooklyn trade: CamJ, 19, 36
Brookyln receive: Barrett, 9
SAS trade: Johnson, 14, 38
SAS receive: CamJ, Hauser (into MLE), 28
Toronto trade: Barrett, Agbaji, 9
Toronto receive: Holiday, 14, 19, 36
Boston trade: Holiday, Hauser, 28
Boston receive: Johnson, Agbaji, 38
Why for Brooklyn: move up for another mid lotto pick as rumored
Why for SAS: surround wemby with lethal shooters
Why for Toronto: get a better fitting albeit older SG in their starting lineup. trade back to acquire more front court depth
Why for Boston: save lots of money

Re: Boston - SAS - Toronto - Brooklyn
I think BK, Toronto, and SA are happy. Is that enough savings for Boston to justify the talent downgrade and moving back in the draft? They’d need to pay Agbaji next year.
I think it’s also a little strange for Toronto in terms of roster, starting lineup of vets and then the rest of the roster will be 1st or 2nd year guys, but that bed has mostly been made already.

RJ Barrett is not what the Nets are looking for. I do not see this ever happening.

well you're looking for trading up into the lotto, not RJ

They can't trade Cam Johnson and 2 picks and only get the 9th pick and the burden of RJB. It just is not a trade Sean Marks usually would consider.
Am I saying there is 0% chance? NO. Would TOR likely give more to make him consider it? YES. Would I bet this trade happens? NO.

Yeah, this works for the Spurs, I might even add a SRP or two if necessary.

Replace 19 and 36 with 27, don't be greedy, it's not PJ Washington

rumor is nets are reaching out to other teams w/ a CamJ + 19 package to trade up. if anything Nets have to give a bit more to convince houston/toronto to accept

OK, if this twitter account is credible, then it's fine.

Nope. Celtics can get a 2nd for sending Hauser to MLE, so his $10M doesn't count as savings here. So, it's really Jrue, 28 for Johnson, Agbaji & 28, which saves only $8.5M. More long term $ too, of course. But, there are better options, imo.

You can send agbaji into tpe for a second too most likely. Thought you would want a placeholder sg/sf but if not can send him elsewhere easily

Re: Boston - SAS - Toronto - Brooklyn
I think it’s a nice trade effort overall. I like that Boston gets some useful players back, but it is a significant talent downgrade.
I think if we pull 28 out of the deal and still send Boston 36 it’s fair for them.
Probably comes down to how Boston views Agbaji. I think he is a downgrade from Hauser, but Toronto fans will tell you he is really really good.
Overall I like the bones of this trade but would just haggle on the fringes about value.
If Boston sees Agbaji as a key part of the future then maybe 36 isn’t necessary, but I definitely don’t think Boston sends a pick here.

Yeah, makes sense. But, I tend to want 1 good player and significant $ saved back for each of Jrue, KP and zero players back from Hauser.
Depending on the quality/salary of those good players, I'd be willing to send picks.
Johnson I see as slightly negative, Agbaji as slightly positive and the savings isn't quite enough to send picks, imo. If the deal was Jrue for Keldon, Agbaji straight, and then BOS turn around get a future 2nd sending him elsewhere, that's cool. Just don't see sending 28 as well for that.

Re: Boston - SAS - Toronto - Brooklyn
For an alternate, I'd rather have Klay back than KJ. Slightly less money and a good vet. DAL gets Jrue and you send Gafford/OMP to ATL for a 28/22 swap. So we end up with Klay, 22 instead of Keldon, 36, future 2nd from Agbaji. It's close, though, if BOS isn't sending 28 in your scenario.

dont think you can get that without adding picks. Jrue is negative value on his contract and so is Keldon, but Jrue has 1 more year so i added in a 28 for 38 swap. hauser/agbaji inclusion is optional.

Willing to add picks for the right guy. See the alternate right above as an example where BOS actually moves up. It's been kicked around before on here. Add Hauser to ATL for free if needed.
For KP, something like ORL for WCJ and BOS/ORL both send some picks BKN way to take on KCP.
Hauser goes to SAC, DET easy if not to ATL above.

Re: Boston - SAS - Toronto - Brooklyn
I'd be shocked if this is the best Boston can do in a salary dump.
Teams will offer to absorb Hauser into an exception, and he may fetch a 2nd or two.
I personally think Jrue is valuable and versatile enough that his contract can be creatively disappeared for a 2nd or two at worst.
To me this is basically paying for the right to overpay Keldon.

Nets don't need RJ, and the deal is too generous to Toronto and hoses Boston. It's not bad for the Spurs, if they can't get anything better for 14.

I think Spurs are stealing value here from Boston. I'd remove the 28 for 38 part and change to:
Brooklyn trade: CamJ
Brookyln receive: Holiday, 14
SAS trade: Johnson, 14
SAS receive: CamJ, Hauser (into MLE)
Boston trade: Holiday, Hauser
Boston receive: Johnson
