It's kinda clearly not going to be Ace. Like obviously.

VJ / Kon / Tre all feel much more likely given Morey's history.

I think comps as we all know is not an exact science with exact measurables, we all know that. The floor is pretty scary with VJ especially with our glut of guards.

Getting preoccupied with positional fit when drafting 3rd is traditionally a recipe for disaster. Gotta take the best player available (whoever you deem that to be) and figure out the rest later.
Bpa is my take as well. Ace ticks both boxes. Tre and VJ only tick bpa.

Yup, this is what some are missing. Daryl will have to deviate away from the type of players he usually likes to take Ace. Possible but unlikely. Especially with his job on the line potentially in the near future, dont see him risking it. I could see him potentially taking him if there is a trade lined up.

Daryl has never had a pick this high, so his draft history calculus goes out the window.

He hasnt, but why would he all of sudden change the way he looks at basketball and pick Ace? I wont be shocked but would be surprised if Ace is the pick and he keeps it. IF they dont trade the pick at all I think it will either be Tre, VJ, or Konn.

There are rumors that Morey's draft model heavily weights high school stats and pedigree, along with draft age. All of those work in Bailey's favor, especially when compared to sophomore-aged prospects like Kon or VJ, or junior-aged guys like Queen.

VJ and Konn are not players you pick at 3. Konn could be a 6-8 pick, and VJ at 4-5 pick. Both likely would be trade down candidates. Morey is all about star power, if he has a chance to take a potential star he'll do that so I think that rules Konn out completely.

Because when you're picking out of the lottery and the 2nd round, you have to go all in on analytics because you're looking for diamonds in the rough. Morey got a rep as being able to do this because his teams were always playoff teams or contenders. You really think you have the same draft philosophy when picking top 3 compared to out of the lottery and the 2nd round?

Sixers are going to be one of the most electric teams in the NBA with Maxey and VJ on the court (without Embiid). That fast break is going to be insane.

For me, out of the 4 prospects being mentioned (Tre, Ace, VJ, Konn), VJ has the highest potential. As Mik mentioned before, his athleticism just stands out. Yes he has flaws, though so do the other three being discussed. VJ is raw offensively. Probably his biggest problem to me is his finishing around the rim, though the fact that he can get there with ease is what I really like. Shooting 78% from the line shows nice potential for his shot to continue to improve. If others want to propose that someone like Ace or Tre has better upside, they can. I dont see it with Ace, I dont think I can be convinced on him. Tre I can see if he is able to buy in defensively and he improves getting to the basket.

I guess that's fair we all have our people. To me though if it's that close between all the candidates you do need to look at fit and how much you need to gut the team. Also need to consider age, height and who has the lowest floor. In this case that would be VJ.

Tre seems like a better fit since they desperately need shooting and he doesn't need the ball in his hands like Harper does. Fox couldn't work with Haliburton so I have major doubts he'll work with Harper.

I wouldn't be shocked if Spurs took Tre or Ace instead of Harper, although it is unlikely considering they could (probably) trade down for big value.

VJ would get buried on the bench here behind 3 better guards in Maxey, Grimes and McCain.
